A Personal Training Business Guest Post by J. Brown
If you’re reading this article you’ve probably already out some thought into your business, but are looking to develop a personal training business plan. A plan that will help you guide your personal training business in the direction that you want it to go to achieve the most that you can. Obviously without a plan it is easy to head off into all different directions without really achieving much.
You can’t allow this type of disorganization because it’s really a waste of your time. Time is one of your most important assets and if you don’t have an organized attack plan your business just will not be as successful as it could be.
Personal training business plans can be hard to develop if you don’t know where to start or what you should be doing. You’ll gather a lot of great information from other pages on this site, such as information on where to focus your marketing, and tools that will help you implement your personal training business plans.
When developing your plan one of the first things you want to do is outline your goals by figuring out what type of business you’re looking to create. Obviously a fitness business, but do you have a niche? Are you running boot camps, small group training, private sessions, pilates, or a mix of these programs? If you are running several different programs you should probably develop fitness business plans for each program because your marketing strategies and management will be slightly different depending on the program.
For instance, if you are running boot camps you will be reaching for a different group of people than private training. Boot camps tend to be less expensive, and your marketing will reflect the people you are trying to reach (people with less money, but who still want to get in shape). For personal training business plans for boot camps you should definitely check out some of our other articles on specific marketing strategies for boot camps including how to structure your boot camps and the best way to bring in the most clients.
Any personal training business plans that you develop, no matter the program, are going to need to address a few things:
- Your target market - who you are trying to reach
- The best way to reach this market - what do they read, where do they go, what are they looking for?
- Outline your daily goals - what you absolutely MUST accomplish during the week. It’s important to make this list and then distribute it in a manageable way so that you can not only make sure you get the most important things done, but so you can see what you may be able to outsource so you have more time to work on other things.
- Make a list of what you want to achieve by a certain deadline. Write this down and plan what you need to do around achieving these goals.
These are just a few of the ways you can make sure your personal training business plans are going to be effective and help you really jump start your fitness business.
