An Advertising a Fitness Product Guest Post by J. Brown
So you’ve created a product and put tons of time into perfecting it and making it exactly how you want it to be. You’ve invested so much into this product and obviously don’t want to waste time marketing it in a way that won’t work. When advertising a fitness product you want to think about who you want to reach with this product and what those people are looking for.
Yes, you want to reach as many people as possible when advertising a fitness product, but you don’t want to spend your hard earned money marketing to people who ultimately will have no interest in your product, or who are somewhat interested but not enough to motivate them to buy the product. First sit down and figure out who your market is based on who is most likely to purchase your product. Think of what your product offers, what it costs, and where it can be used most effectively so you can narrow down your target market and you’ll have better luck advertising a fitness product.
Once you know your target market, think of what sites those people visit, or where they are likely to purchase things. Popular sites may not do accept ads for products, or may charge more than it’s worth to you. If you know a popular site is plugged into your target market you may want to consider setting up an affiliate program where they receive a portion of sales. This way they have an incentive to promote your product, and you’re getting your product out there. Advertising a fitness product can be a tough thing, but don’t box yourself into one method of marketing. Take the time to sit down and think of where you have bought fitness products, and how you could get your product into a similar place.
Above all, make sure you have a killer website up for your product. These days, advertising a fitness product is done largely over the internet, and if you don’t have an awesome sales page you’re not going to be making a lot of sales. Study how other fitness marketers sell their products, and learn how you should have your site set up, and what you need to make it look like a million bucks.
Don’t be afraid to spend money learning how to get your product out there. Education can only help you, particularly if you’re aligning yourself with highly successful people, because they obviously got there for a reason. Ask questions, you’ll be surprised at how many people are willing to offer advice and tips on advertising a fitness product. Just remember that you need to be open to criticism, but you don’t need to adopt everything everybody says. Being open to criticism is good because if you’re not then you’re likely to miss out on good tips from people who have succeeded…but above all make sure your product, site, and advertising flow because you can’t just adopt everything from everybody if it doesn’t flow together properly.
