Getting Started with Personal Trainer Websites

A Personal Trainer Website Guest Post by Joe T.

Unless you already own a website, then you’re probably losing thousands of dollars in lost clients everyday. You see, having a website does a lot for you, like automating your newsletters, promoting yourself easily and more.

One of the reasons why personal trainers don’t have websites is that they feel they don’t have the technical know-how to create websites. After all, you’re a personal trainer and not a web designer, right?

If you’re clueless about things like HTML, CSS, JavaScript and all the related stuff, you don’t have to learn them if you don’t want to. Instead, you can hire someone to do that for you.

There are companies that specialize in building fitness websites that don’t only let you promote your services but also give you the ability to sell products there. But since they are specialists in their field, chances are that you might have to spend a little more for this type of service.

But you have another option. You can instead choose to outsource your web design and development to providers who provide lower rates. You can do this by placing a job posting at sites like Guru.com. The way it works is that providers will bid on your project and send you a proposal. You then get to choose the one that will give you the best value for your money.

Aside from hiring a web developer, you should also know beforehand what you want to have in your website. If you’re cash-strapped or want only a website with the basic stuff on it, you’ll probably only need a few informational pages to begin with. The important pages include your home page, a page about you and your services, a page that answers your clients’ frequently asked questions and finally, a contact page.

The pages I mentioned above are the most basic ones and are the ones that you need for your website, no matter the size.

Now what if you want to do more than just provide information to your visitors? You have several options. For one, you can put up a blog where you can post fitness-related articles on its pages.

Or you can also ask your visitors to sign up for a newsletter where they will get exclusive information. You can even sell them your products through your newsletter, just don’t spam them. Only provide them with things that you think they will be interested in.

Finally, you may also choose to sell products directly on your website by having an e-store. Your visitors can then buy products that you either promote or simply wish to sell on that page. They will then pay you through credit card or other electronic means.

You now have a website, what’s the next step? You have to market your site. But if you don’t know how to do it, you can either consult tons of informative articles on this website about internet marketing. Or if you have cash to spare, you can also hire an experienced internet marketer to do it for you. I would recommend an experienced internet marketer, though. Because even if his/her rates are a bit high, you will always get your money’s worth through the resulting earnings you will get from the marketer’s advice.

At the end of the day, you may have to spend a little more if you are really serious about creating a website and helping it make you extra income. However, if you are on a tight budget, you may have to settle for a more basic and straightforward website.

* Results are not typical. Advertised results are only typical of people who worked their tails off and followed every one of the fitness marketing strategies and personal training tips that I outline on my site to really explode their fitness business. Also, if you click on a link on my site to someone else's product, there's a good chance I'm makin' a profit off of it, probably even a steep one.
