How Do I Get Traffic to My Personal Training Site?

A Personal Training Site Guest Post by Joe T.
The question of how to get traffic to a website is easily one of the frequently asked questions by webmasters on the internet. And I’m betting that you guys with personal training sites ask that question too.
Of course, that’s understandable because you aren’t expected to be a technical wizard since you’re a personal trainer, first and foremost. Because of that, I’ll tell you how to get traffic to your site in a way you will easily understand. Heck, I’m betting that even those who barely know how to use the computer will get the concepts too in a matter of minutes. But I digress.
Anyway, there are a number of core concepts that you must understand when you want to increase your site’s traffic.
First of all, if you want to get any traffic to your website, you must have content that people would want to see or read. Therefore, having helpful articles or videos will certainly drive people to your website. Blogging will do these things for you. For your personal training site, you can post instructional videos, training tutorials and whatnot in there.
But wait, what are the things that your readers would want to see or read? Doing keyword research will help you with that. Keyword research will help you find out which keywords for your particular market are popular.
But you shouldn’t just target popular keywords because chances are, a lot of webmasters are already fighting over those. What you should do then is find a particular niche within those keywords that can get you enough traffic.
So far, what we have just talked about are the means for you to get organic traffic. But what is organic traffic? No, it isn’t the stuff where no fertilizers are used. Rather, organic traffic is traffic that you get from search engines. Organic traffic is great because over time, you will find that most of your traffic will come from it.
However, the thing with organic traffic is that it takes time to build it up. So what would you do if your site is new? Several things. That includes article marketing, pay-per-click campaigns and link exchanges.
First is article marketing. Article Marketing is where you submit articles related to your website to article-submission sites. You can then place more information about your site at the end of each article. If your articles generate a lot of traffic, then that will ultimately trickle down to your own website.
Then there’s waging a pay-per-click campaign or PPC. A PPC is a form of internet advertising where you place advertisements through PPC providers. One common example of a PPC is campaign is Google Adsense. If you place an ad through Adsense and a visitor clicks on it, that visitor will then be led to your desired landing page (which could be your home page or a particular page on your site). In this method, you only pay the provider for every click your ad gets.
Finally, there’s exchanging links. If you exchange links with websites – especially popular ones – there’s a chance of their traffic trickling down to yours. Let’s see how it works. Say for example you exchange links with a fitness guru whose site generate thousands of hits daily. A portion of those visitors will visit your site once they see your link on that guru’s page.
Overall, there are a number of techniques that you can employ to get traffic to your personal training site – or your other sites for that matter. Just remember that these things are a form of marketing, and that marketing takes time. So be patient and keep on testing to find out which of your strategies work and those that don’t.
