How Do I Grow My Personal Training Business?
A Personal Training Business Guest Post by Joe T.
If you’re doing your business right – doing your marketing well and taking good care of your clients – then chances are that your business will soon take off in no time. Sounds great, right? But let me ask you something. If and when your business does take off, would you be ready for the greater demand that your business and your clients will have on you? If you answered no, then I suggest you read this article first.
One thing that you must keep in mind when you’re running a personal training business is that you only have a limited amount of time both for your business and your personal life. Once you realize this, you will begin to value your time more and try to make more out of your 24 hours everyday.
Say you want to earn more from your personal training business. If you used to train people one on one everyday for say, $60/hour, working 6 hours everyday, you get $360 for your entire days work. Want to make that much money in just an hour? Have a group training or a boot camp. So if you want to earn $360 in an hour, get 6 people to train in your boot camp. Now imagine training more people for just 3 hours everyday. You get more than $1,000 everyday. Easy as pie.
But of course you would want to streamline your business further. Hate math and numbers? Outsource your accounting to, well, an accountant. Your accountant will be able to keep tabs of your income better than you would for less them. And by giving the time you spend accounting on your own to an accountant, you have more spare to time to spend for your other stuff.
And it doesn’t stop with your accountant. If there are other things that you can outsource, then do it by all means. But outsourcing costs money, right? Yes, but you can always earn that money back through the spare the time that you get for every work that you outsource.
Tired of running after clients for their payments? It’s frustrating enough to run after one client – now imagine running after at least 10 clients and collecting their checks! But you can always give them the option to put their cards on auto-debit. Once the time of the month for their payment comes, their funds will be automatically sent to your account. It’s convenient for both of you.
But if there’s one time-saving tip that will help your personal training your business grow that would be: set for yourself a goal. Why? Because without a goal, your business won’t have any direction. And without a goal, you won’t be sure if you’re actually growing your business.
Set concrete goals so that you can accurately measure if you’re achieving them or not. And finally, with a goal, you don’t waste your time doing things that don’t add any value to your business. Goals let you know what you must do. Anything outside those goals should be thrown out of the window or set aside for another phase in your business.
