Tips on Creating Good Fitness Websites

Want to expand the reach of your business? If you’re looking for a cost-effective way to market your personal training business to more people, then having your own website will definitely be a must. More and more people nowadays are relying on the internet for information, and having your fitness website means you reach these people who wouldn’t normally pick up a phonebook to look you up.

So I’ll give you some examples of good fitness websites – or at least the elements in good fitness websites that I think your website needs to have.

First off, you need to have a well-designed website. By this, I do not necessarily mean a cool looking website with flashy graphics and the works. What I mean is that you need a website that’s both functional and pleasing to the eye.

When coming up with your site’s design, you need it to look professional. No garish graphics, and make sure your pictures help tell your business’ story. Don’t make it look as if you grabbed the design from some template and decided it to use it.

As for functionality, visitors should be able to find almost immediately the things that they’re looking for. So if you want them to sign up for a free membership in your site, make it prominent and your instructions clear. Also place your navigation where your visitors will see them right away. Don’t waste their time.

What if you don’t have the technical skills to create your own website? I suggest you hire a good web designer. A good designer will know how to combine form and function when creating your site.

Another thing you need in your website is at least the most basic things that people will look for when they want to learn more about your business. The important pages include your homepage, a page for your location, your rates, schedule and contact details.

In your homepage, make sure you don’t simply describe what your site and business is about. Sell your business right away and tell people why they should choose you. It would also be convenient to have your location, rates and schedule so the people will know where and when to find you, and if they can afford your membership fees. In your contact page, you will put there all the necessary contact details of your business, from your address, to your phone number, to your email. Also, make sure you place a contact link on each page of your site.

When creating content for your website pages, it would be great if you could invest some money on hiring a copywriter. Remember that your site’s function is not only to inform people about what you do but also to sell your business to them. And a copywriter can help you write a more persuasive content for your site.

Now where will you put your site? Although you can place your website on free servers, it would be more professional if you also invest on your own domain name and web hosting. That way, you have more control over how your site works and how it’s named.

These three elements: your site’s design, content and hosting, come hand in hand to help you have a good fitness website. A professional-looking site gives you more credibility and helps convince people that you’re the best option they have when it comes to their health and fitness.

Excellent information once again. I found out overtime that its more about content than fancy designs.

* Results are not typical. Advertised results are only typical of people who worked their tails off and followed every one of the fitness marketing strategies and personal training tips that I outline on my site to really explode their fitness business. Also, if you click on a link on my site to someone else's product, there's a good chance I'm makin' a profit off of it, probably even a steep one.
