Follow a Dollar to Retain Clients and Get Referrals
Every small business should be able to follow a dollar from the customer's introduction to the business (top of the funnel) all the way to their conversion of becoming a client and to keeping that client and generating referrals.
It is very simple, just create a diagram showing how someone first hears about your business, whether it's through an online advertisement, an offline advertisement, or through a referral. What gets their attention, what gets them to convert to either call your business or to e-mail about your business or to come in for an appointment, or to come in and purchase a product. Then, what get's that person to actually purchase the product or service, what system that you have in place that converts that prospect into a customer and then diagram out what systems you have in place to keep that customer or client on a long-term basis and then diagram out what systems you have in place to generate referrals from that customer or client. This very simple exercise can really give you a visual on how you can turn a prospect into a long-term client who generates referrals for your business and brings in solid revenue…the best kind of clients to have.
