Intention, Meditation and The Health and Fitness Business Owner

Chris McCombs (CM): I’m here with William Tiller. Bill, who are you and what is it that you do?

William Tiller (WT): Well, I’m a physicist who was a Stanford professor with the Department of Materials Science for 34 years after spending nine years in the industry at Westinghouse Research Lab. And now I am an emeritus professor. I live now in Arizona, northern Arizona, and I have a laboratory that I built here to do experimental research and theoretical search in a topic which I call psychoenergetic science, that I have been working on in parallel with my conventional science for the lat 35 years.

WT: That’s fine. So, next. I guess you want to know what is psychoenergetic science?

Relative to conventional science. Conventional science has looked at the reaction equation - sort of write it in your mind like a blackboard with mass, with arrows back and forth to energy. And for the last 400 years that is pretty much what all of our science has been about. Psychoenergetic science is an expansion of that to include, after energy arrows back and forth to consciousness.

And today we don’t really have a good grip on what we mean by consciousness, other than what we see in the dictionary meaning “awareness and awakeness.” But if we ask instead, “What does consciousness do?” We all pretty much know that it manipulates information. Whether you’re talking about a set of numbers that you want to add, subtract, divide, multiply; whether you’re talking about a bunch of alphabetical letters that you want to arrange to make letters, and make them into words and sentences; whether you’re talking about a set of symbols to be put into mathematical equations; or whether you’re talking about a set of jigsaw puzzle pieces that are scrambled out on the board that you want to convert into a map. That’s basically the informational aspects. You can see that connection. And now what you have is mass to bounce back and forth to energy, arrows back and forth to information, and arrows back and forth then to consciousness.

Now, for about 50 years, 60 years, we’ve known that information basically is quantitatively related to what’s the quantity called entropy. In thermodynamics, which we’ve known for 150 years, there are two major contributions. One is energy, and the other is entropy. So when you talk about bringing order into thing, that is, putting more information in things, that means that you’re reducing the entropy content of the universe, which means that you increase potential in the universe to do things. So, in essence, this whole business of psychoenergetics is introducing the aspect of consciousness and information into plant [?]. Never been there because general unstated assumption of science since the days of Decar [ph] has been that no human quality of consciousness, intention, emotion, mind, or spirit can significantly influence the well-designed target experiment in physical reality. And our work has taken that head on and found procedures to prove that it is very, very wrong.

CM: How can what we’ve learned from this science help us shape our reality?

WT: We are shaping our reality ever day whether we know it or not. I mean, every act that we manifest in life is an act of intention from a higher dimensional aspect of ourselves, which eventually finds its way into our behavior, our attitudes, our actions. In that way, we collectively participate in shaping the world and shaping the future of the world. And so, it’s all about working now - instead of working as people are doing these days in the outer gym in life, getting physically buff, it is serious time to work on the inner person, to become more inner self-managed. And what that eventually does, the capabilities then grow tremendously because now you can develop yourself from being a normal individual to becoming an adept, from adept to becoming a master, and ultimately from a master to becoming an avatar.

So, the capability is all there within us, it’s just incredibly latent and unawakened in most people. All the great performers in the world, in my view, basically unconsciously work on this aspect within themselves, and in so doing, they cause changes in subtle energies within themselves that then pump huge energies and information into the aspects of the body so that their output performance is stellar.

CM: At the deepest level, what are we?

WT: At the deepest level we are spirits. In my view we are primarily elements of spirit, having a physical experience as we ride the river of life together. Our spiritual parents dressed us in these bio-body suits, put us in this playpen that we call a universe, in order to grow in coherence, in order to develop our gifts of intentionality, and in order to become what we are intended to become, which is co-creators with our spiritual parent.

CM: Just how powerful is our mind?

WT: Our mind is powerful beyond our imagining because we are used to playing at the lowest level of capability as a human. We are terribly, terribly, terribly dumbed down. And it’s part of a larger cycle of process in life that’s beyond what we’re going to talk about today. But the ability to modulate and manipulate information grows from this present level of physical reality where we are, which is the electric atom molecule level; to the next level, which is a magnetic information wave level; to the next level, which is an emotion to main level; to the next level, which is a mind to main level; and then on into the spirit to main level, so that if you truly are integrated and coherent at all these levels up to the mind to main level within self, then you can truly move mountains.

So that capability is there within us and that’s what avatars can do; and, ultimately, it is what we will all do. Some of us will be a little slower than others, but it is the process of improvement of ourselves, and we are in this 10-dimensional simulator, which [indistinct] the mind of that simulator, and that creates this playroom. It’s like a teaching machine for us. So that’s the pathway whereby we become.

CM: When it comes to creating desired results in life, how important is intention?

WT: Incredibly important. What we have succeeded to doing in our research is we have developed a procedure, a process, whereby we can implant an intention (specific intention) into a simple electronic devise from a deep meditative state. So we’re doing it from a state at the mind level, at the spirit level, and the emotion level, and giving it a lot of emotion is very important in the imprint that you put in the device. And we then ship that devise, maybe by FedEx, perhaps a couple of thousand miles to a laboratory that we’ve had set up, and put it in the room and just turn it on. Its electrical output on it is less than one nudenth [ph] of a watt.

I put in - and we have equipment set up there to make particular measurement of a material property, whether we’re talking about an intention which increases the pH of purified water by a factor of one pH unit, which is a factor of ten in fivers to nine concentration [ph]; or just an equilibrium with air, no chemical addition. Or we do the same with the same water, but lower the water by one full pH unit. A third experiment is increase the therm-dynamic activity of a specific liver enzyme called alkaline phosphatase.

So we’ve moved from inorganic material to an organic material. The last experiment we did was with fruit flies, a living system, to increase the energy storage molecule ATP, that with its chemical precursor APP and thus make the larva more fit and have a shorter larval development time to be adult fly stage. In all these cases we were robustly successful. In the fruit fly case we reduced the larval development time to the adult stage by about 25 percent, and appeared to be producing some genetic change. So, we are now studying that genetic effect carry over.

So, in answer then to your question, how significant is it? Intention is crucial in everything you do. Every act of your life is an act of intention. And you can make it weak by not putting any oomph into it. An example there would be like having a Xerox machine, which operates without toner - if you don’t put any energy into it. So, in terms of manifesting things in life, you need to drive your intention with emotional content so that you put toner in your biological machine, so that the output performance steps up magnificently.

CM: How important is our day-to-day state of being when it comes to our day-to-day experiences? And let me state that another way. How does our inner state of being affect our outer experience of life?

WT: One to one ratio. What you see on the outside of you is the collective materialization of all of us. We are continuously creating our future, and if you want to feel good or bad about yourself, just look outside and see what the world’s doing; that tells us where we are. And to make it better, really significantly better, the only thing you can do is to change yourself to become more aware, to become more inner-self managed. When you’re inner-self managed you are less [indistinct] inside, you are more purposeful, you have greater focus of your energy.

Let me give you an example. If I look at a typical light bulb - like these 60 watts, 100 watts, say - it gives a bit of light, but not a lot of light. And the reason it doesn’t give a lot is because of what’s called destructive interference; that is, the photons that come out of that light bulb are cancelling each other to a high degree. So if you could somehow use your inner abilities to orchestrate the motion of those photons out of a light bulb so that they basically rode on each other’s back as if they were coherent with each other, then what we would have called before this 100 watt light bulb now produces an energy intensity the order of 100 times the surface of the sun. That’s what can happen by becoming internally coherent, and thus really affect your environment.

CM: How can we improve our inner state of being?

WT: We improve it - the single most important way is to become a very good meditator; to work on it, practice, practice, practice. And along the same path, you can look at Qigong, you can look yoga techniques, you can look at Sufism, there are a variety of procedures that function in our society - around the world - that are prefect tools for individuals to transform themselves from where they are to something dramatically better. And that’s what’s needed, especially at this time.

CM: Are there any types of meditation that you suggest?

WT: There are many, and I couldn’t say one is preferred over another. I think an individual has to try those until they find one they really like, a procedure, or just persevere if they can. The procedure I started with 40 years ago came from the Edgar Cayce work. It’s still being taught, I think, by what’s called the ARE, the Association for Research and Enlightenment in Virginia Beach. In most cities there are organizational groups that get together for discussing the Cayce material, and generally they have a period of teaching meditation. It’s very simple.

You can use the technique of the moderishi [ph]. There are just lots of them out there if you take the trouble to really look and see. I mean, the self-realization fellowship of Yogananda began a long time ago. So really, if you look, there’s lots of them. There’s lots of material. But you have to experiment. You have to find what works for you. Some people like music to lead them into meditation; some people don’t. Some people can’t keep their mind quiet enough, and then there’s the hug math [ph] technique, which is really kind of a meditation you can do with your eyes open, and that’s going into your heart and focusing appreciation on someone or something. And you just become more and more attuned with your inner self.

So pursue. Find one that works for you and practice, practice daily. That’s the single most important place to start. There are lots of things to follow on later, but that’s the key thing, in my view.

CM: I actually have struggled with meditation for around six years, and I’ve found that - I don’t know if you’ve heard of CenterPointe or Holosync?

WT: Yeah, sure, the Holosync procedure has helped many, many people.

CM: I love it. It is has phenomenally changed my life.

WT: That’s terrific, and you see, that’s the important thing. Don’t give up. That’s the issue. The interesting thing for me is, I was in this movie What the Bleep and that’s helped an awful lot of people. But a lot of people got the idea that these transformations can be quick, and if something amazing didn’t happen to them within three or four weeks then they dropped it because “it couldn’t be any good.” But, in fact, we’re talking about procedures that do not cause change in a short period of time like weeks and months. It’s your target for years and lifetime that are involved in this process. So the issue is not to give up. The issue is to keep pursuing and find one that works for you, and then work strong with it.

CM: I’m sure you’ve covered a lot of this, but what would you say to the fitness trainer who wants to help more people and wants to have greater success in life and business?

WT: Well, again, the issue of becoming internally coherent within self, that is, inner-self managed. When you become inner-self managed, you recognize we’re all part of one; you’re part of someone else and they’re part of you. It’s like there’s a template, which is a super-molecule, and [indistinct] function as atoms in that. And so you share something and you give something, and you get a lot from the other members. So when you look at another you can see the divine aspect in them, and help them become more; and in helping them to become more, you become more, because you are connected with everything. And, as far as business benefits, are just a byproduct of proper behavior relative to your connection with others.

The good qualities of life - the Golden Rule - it’s really, really simple. Instead of all the details of religiosity, the business of treating others as you would like to be treated. That’s the great commandment, “Love thy God with all thy heart and soul and all thy might, and our neighbor as our self.” If you really practice that these other things happen. You can’t miss in business if you treat people that way. And of course you have to true to yourself and you have to learn these various things, and then you’re smart enough to be useful to others and useful to the world. It just comes naturally then; it’s just a byproduct of the process you put yourself in.

We’re all in the stage of becoming; becoming more, hopefully. Of course, it’s free will. So you can choose whatever direction you want, up the scale or down the scale. That’s where free will comes in, and there’s no growth without practicing free will.

CM: Is there one question I should have asked you but didn’t regarding this topic?

WT: Oh, hell, I don’t know. It’s a question of how detailed you want to go. I didn’t really go into the details of our scientific results. It’s hard to do.

CM: Like a summary or something.

WT: Well, the summary of what we have found from the last 10 years of experiments is that we have discovered a second unique level of physical reality; and that is the level that you manipulate with your mind. The normal level, the electric atom molecule level, is not one that you manipulate very much. And so, when you put forth the intention and the emotion and the energy, there’s a particular higher dimension energy that allows a coupling to occur between these two levels of physical reality. And when that happens, when the two are connected - really connected - then that lifts what’s called the electromagnetic asymmetry state, which is a word which will scare a lot of people. But it is a higher level of nature. And now, when that occurs, which is when you are able (with your intentions) to change the properties of material, whether within your own body or within someone else’s.

Again, it’s just a byproduct of becoming more coherent within and more inner-self managed, and seeing beneath the surface of things. You develop your intuition, you develop all kinds of qualities that have always been there, but they’re down amongst the noise; and most people don’t quiet themselves enough to dig deep and go beneath that level of noise and see all the rest that’s there - which, there’s a tremendous amount there. We’re sort of living just the tip of the iceberg.

Most scientists, traditional scientists, these days think we know almost everything, and they’re wanting to write books about the theory of everything. Well, I think we’ve hardly even begun the process. There are many, many levels of reality we’ve not begun to explore, because we’ve allowed ourselves to get cul-de-saced where we think space/time is all that is. And that’s only the beginning. That’s the lowest rung on the ladder of the phenomena that are available in nature to us all. That’s about where we are. Do you have anything else that you wanted to ask?

CM: I just wanted to know where people can learn more about you, your books, and your products, and anything you’d like in a byline.

WT: Well, my website is www.tiller.org. And if people go there, they will see some of the stuff that we do. And I have written three books in this area. The first one in 1997 called Science and Human Transformation, the second one in 2001 called Conscious Acts of Creation, and the third one 2005 is called Some Science Adventures with Real Magic, and I’m just finishing up the fourth one right now. To get these, they can order them from our order fulfillment house if they like. That’s toll free, and the number is (888) 281-5170. And if people are calling from international, then they have to call at the number (620) 229-8979. And that’s the way they can learn more about it and see what I’ve written about - well almost four books now, published; and about 130 papers, scientific papers in magazines, and articles. So, going to the website is a way to get at, or access, that kind of material.
