Market or Die…Your Business That Is…
Here's my quick rant on fitness marketing. That's right, this post is nothing but a rant and you'll probably learn not a damn thing from it…
If you're a regular visitor to this website than this post probably doesn't apply to you, so feel free to skip it. This post is the for those who put in the long hours without giving any thought or energy as to how they can improve their marketing strategies…It's amazing isn't it?
It' amazing how few chiropractors, personal training businesses, health clubs, and mixed martial arts instructors are interested in marketing.
It's amazing to go to a marketing seminar, and be the only one in the health and fitness profession. There's usually tons of real estate guys and internet marketers, maybe a few lawyers and restaurnt owners, even the occasional doctor or chiropractor makes an appearance…but they're usually few and far between.
Marketing is the front line. It is the most important thing. And everything that we do is marketing, from how we dress and present ourselves to what our clients say about us, to what our facility looks like, to what our website says, to what our outgoing voicemail says, and how we talk to people - everything.
I'm amazed at how few health and fitness professionals really give marketing any thought. Marketing is the easiest way to leverage your time. It is one of the best ways I know of to create something once, and let it bring in money over and over.
Sure, with marketing on the front end a lot of times, you need to put in some time and money that you're not getting a return on immediately
But for the health and fitness professionals who market the right way, the dollars will always come in the long run
Handing over your marketing to someone else is just like handing over a newborn baby to an orphanage. It's a real bad idea because marketing is the baby of your business. It's where it all starts. It's where it all begins. Without the marketing, there's no sales. Without the sales, there's no clients, and without the clients, there's no money.
If there was one thing I would say to the health, fitness, and wellness professionals, it is to become a die-hard student and practitioner of marketing.
Live it, eat it, breathe it, study it every single day. Become the best at it in your industry. Become the best at it in your local market, and you will dominate it.
You will be making money while you sleep, while you eat, while you go to the movies, while you hang out with your kids and friends.
Marketing…I guess it's a good thing that most of our fellow health and fitness business competitors aren't into it…that's probably why we're able to make so much money…mmmm…maybe I should delete this post.
