How Does This Fit Into Your Life?

prisonjpg.jpgOne of the most important questions the health and fitness entrepreneur should ask themselves whenever considering a new project or business venture is "How does this fit into my life?"

Whether you own a health club, a personal training business or you're a mixed martial arts instructor, the main purpose of your business should be to enhance freedom and happiness. It should be a positive addition to your life and not a ball and chain like that girlfriend you had in college who ended up draggin' you down, taking up all your time and basically stalking you when you tried to break it off. ( I had to actually call the cops on one…it was ugly)

The majority of  small business owners are slaves to their business and while they might achieve a respectable level of financial success, that success comes at a high cost - long hours, stress, anxiety, suffering relationships and lack of a sense of purpose.

I urge you to create your business to enhance your life, not to take away from it. Your business should be a vehicle for freedom on the long and windy road of life.

Create your business around the parameters of what you want your life to be instead of building your life around your business.

Make it so that you can get up when you want, live where you want, interact with the kind of people you want, vacation when you want and so on.

Whenever you take on a new business venture ALWAYS ask "How does this fit into my life?"

Don't let your fitness business be like Sally from your college days, when you constantly had to tell your buddies you couldn't go watch the game because you promised your girlfriend you were gonna hang out with her.
