Quick and Easy Testimonial Video Marketing

One of the best personal trainer marketing and health club marketing strategies and one THE BEST ways to bring in loads of new clients is through the effective use of testimonials. What someone else says about you or your product or service is always many more times more powerful than what you have to say. I mean come on, you're the business owner, of course you're going to tell me that your service is the best, I'll be a new person after using it and your s#%! don't stink and never will.

But I know you're the business owner and will probably tell me anything to get me to hand over my hard earned cash. You'll tell me know that I'll lose all my fat, my back will feel great, I'll be able to take on any gang of thugs I meet in a dark alley, I will soon be rich and successful and that my sex life will be one that will go down in history and be envied by rock stars and drugged out 25 year old movie stars across the globe.

You see, I know you'll tell me these things, so I'm extremely skeptical right off the bat, I don't believe a word you say and I know you just want my money (even if you're a great guy and truly want to help me, understand that as a consumer in today's society it's my job to not trust you, otherwise I'll be ripped off by every multi-level marketer and snake oil salesman who crosses my path)

Now what your clients or customers say about you is a different story. Their words might actually get through to me, especially if those clients or customers are like me, of my gender, have my same fears and desires, are of a similar age range and I can really relate to them.

I'm 1000x more likely to believe what they say about you than what you say about you.

This is because of the power of social proof, one of most powerful factors of influence known to man.  I highly recommend you read Robert Cialdini's ground breaking book 'Influence - The Psychology of Persuasion' It's a book that really explains the psychology of why people say "yes" and has been a turning point in many marketers careers ( I don't care what business you're in, what you really are first and foremost is a marketer, so embrace it and be the best marketer you can be )

Now keep in mind there are different levels of social proof when it comes to the power of testimonials on your website. From lowest to highest they are:

• Text testimonial, first name only
• Text testimonial, first and last name
• Text testimonial, first and last name with a picture ( before and afters are best )
• Text testimonial, first and last name with a picture and a short description of where they live or what they do for a living, even possibly an email address or phone number
• Audio testimonial
• Video testimonial

The idea is to have your testimonials be as believable as possible and as specific as possible ( i.e. "I lost 23.2 pounds in 7 and a half weeks" is much more powerful than "I lost weight" )

One of the best times to capture testimonials is any time the customer starts talking about how they're excited or happy with the results they're getting using your product or service.

At this point the best thing to do is have a little Flip type video recorder in your pocket that you can bust out and start filming right there on the spot. When you're done you can easily plug the video recorder into your computer and have the testimonial uploaded to your site within minutes.

These little video cameras take quality video, are extremely easy to use, can fit into your pocket and make uploading video to the web a snap ( no I don't sell them or make any money on them ) You can do a search for "Flip Video" on Google or go to Best Buy or Costco ( $100 - $200 range )

The power of testimonials is definitely a force to be reckoned with and if you're not using them in your copy then your trying to convince skeptical shoppers to take your word for it, trust me… they won't
