How To Drive Your Business Forward
I think one of the keys to driving your business forward is to use time blocks, especially blocks of uninterrupted time that are focused on doing the most important things to move your business forward.
Every day you should be setting aside a minimum of one to two hours to do the most important things to move your business forward. If you can spend more time than that, all the better, but at least one to two hours.
If you're spending the majority of your day training clients, taking phone calls, returning e-mails, doing assessments, writing training programs, answering client's needs, then you are not focusing on the big drivers in your business. You need time every day to focus on your strategy, your systems, your marketing, and your conversion process. You need to take these appointments extremely seriously. If you take appointments with others serious but don't take appointments with yourself serious, you're really dropping the ball here and you're not going to have the kind of business that you want or deserve.
I can' say it enough, set times for yourself each day, basically appointments with yourself, that you are going to work on your business and the big things to drive your business forward, and then keep those appointments religiously.
Do not break them no matter what. Keep those appointments as you would if you had an appointment with the President of the United States and, in my opinion, having an appointment with yourself to drive your business forward is a Hell of a lot more important than to go shaking the hand of the President; because in five years who is going to give a shit if you shook the hand of the President? However, if your business is what you want it to be, that's going to feel real damn good.
