Julian.jpg

For most people life just kinda happens to them.

They're at the mercy of circumstance, hate their job, hate their spouse and are bored out of their f**king mind.

Then there are those who design life to be just how they want it. I call these "Lifestyle Design Bad-Asses"

Here's a quick post I whipped up about how to be a lifestyle design bad-ass…

But before we jump in… be sure to leave your name and email so I can send you my free Kick Back Life Internet Marketing and Lifestyle Design Updates

1. Work for yourself

2. Work where you want

3. Work when you want

ag.jpg4. Delegate out as much of the sh*t you don't want to do, don't like to do, or don't PERSONALLY need to do as possible (even delegate out the delegating)

5. Have someone else manage all the people who work for you. Treat this person well

6. Read The 4 Hour Work Week, The E-myth, and The Power of Full Engagement. Do what those books say to do

7. Take time off an a regular basis

8. Have a business that is systems dependent, not owner dependent

9. Create your business around your life, not your life around your business

10. Take massive action and get things done fast, Understand that when you do this some things will get broken and jacked up, That's ok, take action anyway… you can fine tune things later… cuz remember, success usually happens in the middle of massive chaos

11. Become a die-hard student and practitioner of direct response marketing

12. Surround yourself with other successful direct response marketers

tyler.jpg13. Read the blog you're currently reading on a regular basis

14. Read Timothy Ferris's blog on a regular basis http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/

15. Have clear and defined written goals

16. Follow your own path and don't give a sh*t what anyone else says, especially if they aren't giving you money

17. Nurture the important relationships in your life.

18. Protect your time like a father protects his daughter. If anyone tries to steal your time with things that are important to them but not important to you, immediately terminate the situation. Sounds harsh but if you don"t do this, you'll spend the majority of your time doing things that are important to others but not to you.

19. Get clear on your values and make sure your work is in line with your values.

20. Everyday you're willing to work spend as much time as possible on the biggest levers in moving your business forward to where you want it to be

21. Take time to learn everyday, but don't let learning become an avoidance activity

22. Be willing to have uncomfortable conversations with others

23. Become a master student of persuasion. Read 'Influence' by Robert Cialdini if you haven't read it

24. Take many vacations every year

25. Have days when you do no work at all

26. Keep your phone on silent as often as possible and batch process your calls

27. Batch process your emails

28. Meditate and visualize

29. Understand when you walk your own path in life others will be irritated and often offended. This is ok

30. Expand your comfort zone on a regular basis and understand that you and your business will only grow by doing things that are currently beyond your level of emotional comfort. Get used to it

duude.jpg31. Start relationships with people you want in your life with the giving hand. Do something cool for them before you ask ANYTHING of them

32. Realize that your relationship or your career can't make you happy. HOWEVER, also realize that a relationship with the wrong person or a career you hate are two things that can f**k happiness up real quick. Make sure you have the right relationship and career

33. Understand that there are three kinds of business in life. Your business, other peoples and life's business. Your business is your thoughts and actions. Other peoples business is their thoughts and actions. Life's business are things like the weather and the traffic. Focus only on YOUR business, because it's the only thing that matters, the other stuff you can't control so don't worry about it

34. Have goals and focus on them a lot, but be present in the moment as well, since it's all we really have

35. When you're wrong, make things right as soon as possible… especially when other people are involved

36. Be yourself, if you aren't, others will know it

37. Spend as much time as possible doing what you truly enjoy

38. Realize you'll never get everything done

39. Stay on your path, be persistent yet flexible

40. Take action, but don't be attached to outcome

41. In Guy Ritchie's kick-a** film RockNRollla there's a chase scene that just goes on and goes on ( the secene is funny as hell by the way )… the bad guys just won't give up no matter what… where most people would have keeled over and died, these dudes just keep comin' at ya… that is how you become a Lifestyle Design Bad-A**

Super-Trainer @ 11:24 am

Great tips here, Chris - lol, don't want to end up like a workoholic like Jeremy Piven from Entourage -

Chris @ 12:48 pm

Thanks bro - yeah that works for Ari man - the guy does WHATEVER it takes - I wouldn't wanna work that much either - but he's a deal closing bad-a** who goes the extra mile and lives on his own terms… and sometimes Vinnie's =)

Super-Trainer @ 2:53 pm

That's true man - he doesn't give a rat's A$$ about other people's agenda. - And he won't stop until he gets what he wants -

Hey, Chris -
I haven't read "The Power of Full Engagement," but I'm getting it right now on your recommendation. Thanks.

Seamus Anthony @ 5:23 am

You, sire, are quite obviously a Rebel Zen master. Kudos.

Alexander Morentin @ 10:31 am

Hey Chris,
Awesome list.Thanks.
It would be good to read this every morning.

BTW: What do you think of Dan Kennedy's Magnetic Marketing course?

Have a great Day!

Chris @ 10:51 am

Hey Alexander - Magnetic Marketing rocks - as does ALL Kennedy stuff

Jaiya Figueras @ 12:28 pm

This is my daily medicine and if anybody else is reading this I saw Chris doing all the things he talks about 4 years ago. Its all legite and no B.S. Be different. But dont try to reinvent the wheel if someboy who is standing in paradise is telling you how to get there. This is called modeling. And I'm modeling my a*s off after everything I can possibly read on kickbacklife.com. Reading this info fires me up and helps me to realize that there is opportunity even when the majority says there's not. Thanks for all the great information Chris.

Tom @ 12:36 pm

Great post. Great points. Were you sitting on a mountain top when writing this?

Chris @ 12:51 pm

Thanks for the good words Jaiya - you are the man

Tom - kinda crazy man but I think this is the fastest post I ever whipped up - think I was watching "The Office" while I wrote it

Alexander Morentin @ 11:13 pm

Thanks Chris.
Peace.

Jeremy @ 2:16 pm

Great list Chris I will read it on a regular basis. Quick question how do you batch your emails?

Chris @ 2:47 pm

Hey Jeremy, have certain times just for emails.

Trent Cox @ 7:49 pm

Hey Chris. This is genious. I've already copied the list and put it right next to my computer so I can reflect on it again and again. I am a budding internet marketer, and #21 really hit home. I now realize that my obssessive learning has become an avoidance activity. Time to TAKE ACTION!

October 29, 2008

Chris @ 9:46 pm

Trent - I did that same thing myself for years brother… learning is awesome but it must be kept in check

October 31, 2008

R J B @ 3:47 pm

Wow! Such powerful info. I wish I had this information a few years ago. Thanks for sharing.

November 1, 2008

Liz @ 11:51 am

Chris,
you are rocking my planet! Have you built in days when you did no work at all even from the beginning of your business?

Chris @ 12:44 pm

Hey Liz, it wasn't really until I found how important it was.

There's a great book by Tony Schwartz called "Power of Full Engagement" where he talks about it… AWESOME book with all kinds of energy management strategies… that';s when I first realized the importance of it

Hey Chris, Really good sh*t! Especially Tim Ferriss! I will print out all 43 suggestions, tape it to my fridge and read it daily.

john @ 8:40 am

I am one of those working around the clock personal trainers that is constantly getting burnt out. Thank-you for providing this kind of information for people.

Some people just don't get it as fast as others. There really is a ton of information out there that we have to take the time to acess to maximize our potential!

Keep doing what your doing guy…
