Tell them to feel free to keep it moving, your website is something they can choose or not choose. Are they reading your blog on the 60 inch plasma or what? Give me a break. Once you start acquiescing to things like that, it will snowball into the depths of whiny-ass hell, and you'll be producing generic crap like everyone else in no time flat.

Now and then I'm like damn, there's alot of testosterone in here, but I came in of my own choice. It's YOUR thing…I like your info…but I'd never ask you to 'do you' differently…

I read your blog because it gives me good ideas, and keeps inspiring me to do more marketing, which is something that I've always avoided. I've taken alot of your suggestions, and they have helped me alot! I'm with the previous poster that says there is alot of testosterone in the blogs, which I kind of just speed read or gloss over and ignore for the most part. My NY side also says "you don't like, tough". BUT, the reality is that different people get offended by different things; and if leaving pictures out gets more people to READ your blog and take it for the important, well-thought-out message that it is, than I say leave the girlie pics out…and give me more great advice on fitness marketing!

If you like the pics, keep 'em. Do what YOU want. You can always have a milder page to please everyone, but why would you want to please everyone? You attract who you are and people who like who you are.

Honestly, I don't think the pictures would influence me to read the blog either way. I do it more for the content. Sure, I love half naked women as much as the next guy (naked even more) , but I can't honestly say that's what draws me to the site. I'd be here with or without them

The pics are not inappropriate.. a bit off theme for a personal training marketing blog, but not entirely inapplicable… A blog will seem dull without some controversy.. However, a sharper message across the pics – something like "Jazz Up Your Fitness Business" or "Is Your Marketing Strategy As Sexy As It Should Be?".. (you get the idea) will give the pics the extra edge.. Having said that, your edgy style keeps me coming back.. but yeah, making some updates should lead to a broader audience.. just depends on you, whether you want that audience or not!

It's good to have pictures, but personally I like for the pictures to actually apply to what I am reading. Seeing pictures that have nothing to do with the actual content, is really just a distraction from what's important. If someone really wants to look at pictures of women, there are plenty of other websites for that. I vote to drop them.

I don't mind the pictures but I don't come here for them either. I come here to read the content and that's all I'm interested in. I barely even notice the pictures to be honest. If it was me, I'd get rid of them just to keep from losing any readers that may be offended by them. Remember, marketing is not about what you want but what the people you're marketing to want. That's just my opinion.

Freedom is a great thing and I exercised mine by presenting a request to Chris. As a Christian I choose to do what I believe is pleasing to The Lord Jesus. I am not demanding that all others do likewise; as you can read in what Chris posted. I didn't beat him down or place demands on him.

As a husband, my wife has all of me not part or parts.

Sensitivity is a fine topic but more importantly is the issue of desensitization. The bar continues to fall to feed our lower nature. But think for a minute of your Mom (we all have one), sister or daughter. Now would you want some guy's mind desiring to have his way with either of them becuase he has been sexually stimulated merely from veiwing a picture. We know that that stimulation did occur from the comments in some of the posts. Everything starts as a thought; images are powerful and sensuality can be intoxicating.

I know Chris took a leap of faith when he started this edgy blog a year ago, but he knew it would pay off. He has a way of setting his mind to something, doing it his own way and succeeding.

I wanted a site that mixed all the stuff that most of the hardcore "entrepreneurial" trainers I know love

1. KILLER information
2. Humor
3. Girls
4. Cool stuff like gangster films
5. Good times… like teaching stuff in cool fun stories

If I want people to come back to my blog on a regular basis (which it looks like they do) I have to make it a blog that 'I' want to come back to on a regular basis

Even if the content is good, if it's told in boring way people won't want to read it and I sure as hell wouldn't want to write it.

Textbook style learning drives me bat-shit nuts… that's why I couldn't stand school… cuz it was boring

But if something is fun… well that's a whole different story

I actually had an issue like this about 4 or months back.

I had a guy unsubscribe b/c I posted a few PG13 rated pictures of a up and comming fitness model from Miami. He was nice about it, but stated that his wife wouldnt approve of him reading a fitness blog with pictures of other females.

I replied and said im sorry that you couldnt stick around, but I never changed a thing.

I still randomly post fitness/military related pics of women and being a military member and a hetrosexual male, I enjoy the ones you post as well!

I suspect Karlton has balls by asking such a thing in a forum like this, and sticking his neck out by stating who he is and what he stands for.

That said, I don't believe for one minute it is his right or mine or anyone elses to ask another man to change the way he lives his life (including what he puts on his blog) just because said life doesn't meet with his particular standards.

We are all individuals – men standing on their hind legs. The greatest freedom we have is our own opinion, the right to express it, and if we don't agree with another's..
well we also have the right to move on.

I think the material stands on its own merit and doesn't need pics to keep folks coming back. I find it hard to believe people are offended either way, but you have to ask yourself if it adds to the validity of the material.

On a different note, it looks like the Pat, Jim & Co. at taking things in a large scale, more professional direction where the photos just wont fly.

I just read Karlton's comments, and I know people just like him, being that i live in the heart of the South. The fact of the matter is however, I don't know that anyone really sees the women and all they do is "fantasize about being with them".

If thats the case, how can you ever go to a beach? or a gym? or the freaking mall even? Whether it is insecurities in your Christianity, or some other void in your life that needs to be addressed…I don't think every other guy is seeing every woman as "the object of desire" that you are.

So what it boils down to is I think you are a little over-sensitive to a woman in a bikini. I've never had "intoxicating desire" because i saw a picture of one online. I mean, do you go to a beach and go into a Lust-Tizzy?

I respect that you have your morals and should always hold onto them. I just think if a picture of an attractive woman makes you feel so "spiritually vulnerable" then maybe there are other issues to address

Hey Chris, awesome content on posts. Pictures-what ever. Some of the comments were from people that are im my words ignorant. I am an Elder of a very large Christian church. I am no stick in the mud, and yes the pictures could be offensive to some people. I could do with out them but I just ignore them, but for some people to say such stupid things like they do to sound macho or something like "whoa, yea I am a bad dude and I don't take crap from my wife". Well I must say those are quite ignorant comments. Hey thanks for the VERY informative information that you send out to help us further our businesses.

Since you're asking for my two cents: I'm not a fan of pictures that objectify women, especially if they are thrown in to stimulate the male libido. That's not my bag. I especially have a responsibility to my three kids to be wary of such things.

If it attracts the audience to whom you seek to market, then you certainly have the legal liberties to do such a thing. But it's a turn off to me: a heterosexual woman, who'd probably be more inclined to tune into your blog with more frequency without said pictures. If your audience is not meant for people like me, then do what you do.

Your content is awesome, but you're not going to please everyone either. Karlton deserves credit for showing deference to his wife, something that is sadly missing in our culture these days.

There is a difference between physicality and sensuality. Leonardo's instructor asked him why he began painting disrobed (naked) people. Leonardo replied that he wanted to paint them as God sees them. His instructor informed Leonardo that he was not God.

Awesome Post Chris, the only thing I'm worried about is that second picture of the monkey looking creature – that makes me want to run the other direction.

On a side note, Karlton or any others if you don't want images to load on a browser or even specific sites give Firefox a try. You can on a per domain basis block all images from loading and just read the text. Hope this helps.
