  7. Great Videos!

I'm ready to load up some vids of my own. What program do you use to edit/chop and put the dead space on the video?

  8. Yavor says:

Makes a lot of sense. The thing I learned here is to limit the keywords. Good stuff, Bedros!

  15. Hey Bedros,

Great video man, awesome tips thankyou.

A question on those keyword tags… Google and You Tube Choke on it… what about Viddler and Metacafe?

If they do then will need to lighten the load a little. Time to break the drought ;)

    Cheers boys

WTF… Bro.. You are a genius where the hell did you pick up on this stuff keep it coming. I need to quit checking my email so damn early and get some work done. Thanks! For the killer FYI.

  17. Bedros, Chris, & Steve, you guys are like the three musketeers of marketing (or the three stooges, which ever you prefer). There hasn't been one post on any of your blogs that I haven't utilized. I just have one question… when are you coming to the East coast? Boston is nice, Maine is even better (hint hint).

  18. Bedros!

I laugh every time you mention Google Juice.

Killer vid. Instead of fading to black, could you just fade to a call to action?

Like, "Click on the link right here for your free widget"

Thanks bro, see you in May!

    ~ The Lukester

  19. AWESOME video! I have made the big mistake of putting in all of my keywords in the tag lines and this will help tremendously. I can't wait to start throwing up a bunch more videos on youtube now! Gotta love targeted traffic like this and you have shown that higher ranked vids equal higher ranks on google. Thanks!

P.S. I am SOOOO Pumped for Fitness Business Summit 09! Less than a month away now and I'm already losing sleep over it because I'm so excited about it! Thanks to you guys(Bedros Keuilian, Chris McCombs, and Steve Hochman)I gave notice at my job on Wednesday (Facility Manager for a Rehabilitation & Fitness Clinic) and come time for the summit I will be happily on my way to building my own 7 figure fitness empire! With your help I no longer have to work for "the man" and within a couple months using all of your techniques I know I will be THE MAN in Scottsdale, AZ! HA! I'm STOKED to meet you guys in person in May. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE GREAT CONTENT!

  20. Thanks for all the feedback everyone.

The best video cam and editing software for this stuff is the flip cam (just google it). Its all built in and its really easy to use.

@Adam, for Viddler and other sites you can go crazy with the keywords as far as I know.

    Thanks All!

    Bedros

  21. Sarai says:

Bedros, great video! Love the tip about putting the url at the beginning, I've always put it toward the end.

I have a question, is it ok to use the same keyword in all your videos?
For example, if you run a boot camp should the title and keywords always be -boot camp Livermore -fat blast workout. Boot Camp Livermore -before and afters, etc.

    ~Sarai

  22. Casey G says:

Good stuff Bedros. What are your thoughts on putting your web address and a mini ad in the "dead space"?

  23. Great undergrownd tip!
Now, do you need to type your url before the video starts or at the end before the dead space??

  24. @Sarai yes its ok to use the same kw in multiple videos. Only establishes you more relevent. And you'll want to use your kw in the titel, dicription, and tags.

@Casey @Lukster Yeah you guys can go really crazy with that black screen at the end and put all types of call to actions and urls, but at some point it should just fade to black for at least 10-15 seconds so that people can take action.

    Rock on!

    Bedros

  25. Awesome post here. Just a quick question, if you've got your youtube set up for a personal reason (I have old videos of personal stuff on there) would it make sense to open a new one and optimize the name on the account for your keyword? What do you think?

  26. Tim W says:

Yeah thats some good stuff as always! I'll be filming on Monday

    Cheers

  27. Dave Sanders says:

Bedros this was brilliant I'm going to change all my videos now .

  28. Very cool.
I always put way to many tags with my videos.
The 3o seconds of blank space is great.
Always wondered why you did that.
Thought you just didn't know how to edit. hahaha

    Thanks guys. :-)

  29. Tarvin Durbin says:

    Excellent Tip !!!

  30. Andrew says:

Awesome Bedros! I couldn't even wait for you to finish before adjusting all of my videos!

  31. Bedros-

Thanks for another tool to go in the Domination tool box with no lid.

Trainer Fred and I were just talking about this today. $hits about to blow around these parts.

    Thanks Bedros!

    Donovan "DFitnessguy" Owens

  32. Oh yeah, one thing I forgot to mention is the video was to do a call to action where at the end of your video you point over your left shoulder with your right hand and say something like "okay, make sure to click that link right there (and your pointing to your link) for more awesome stuff. And then the screen fads to black.

    Rock on all!

    Bedros

  33. Doug says:

    Thanks Bedros
    Great video post
Is it Ok to have your logo in the 30s "dead time" at the end should I do nothing? I tend to put my logo banner at the end for 10 + sec.

Thanks again the tips were golden. Looking forward to the Fitness Business Summit 2009

  34. Great tips bro!

    I'm editing my videos now!

    Christian

  35. Nii says:

Thanks Bedros. I just started to add the URL in the start of the description because what I have found over the years people are too lazy to click for more info or even listen to the URL is you say it at the end of a video.

I have even started to add the little comic book bubbles to work the visual and get people to take action

How do you add the 30 sec of dead space. i really need to learn to work Windows movie maker.

    PEACE Bedros,

I am missing the bald head bud hey I guess military habits die hard

    Nii

  36. Jason says:

Love that 30 second tip, just changed my video to do that.

  37. @Nii, Funny you mention the bald head because I almost pulled out the clippers today to shave my head bald again – my wife stopped (for now).

You asked how do I get the 30 seconds of dead space at the end of my videos… I have a very complicated system…lol. Just kidding it’s something a little child can do.

I turn on flip cam, put my giant thumb on the lens, stay real silent and hit record and count off 30 seconds to myself.

Then I use the built in editing software in the flip (again easy enough for a child) to add the 30 seconds of black screen to the end of my videos.

I tried figuring out windows movie maker once and I almost smashed my entire PC into tiny little fragments.

    Bedros

  38. Bedros,
thanks for the tip mate. I already go alright for keywords in Sydney but that tip about 1 keyword is killer. I was jammin' them in.

    cheers!

  39. Great post Chris…AND Bedros. I've had great success with my videos…but this will definitely help me take er to the next level.

Just in time too!…I just finished filming 10 Get Lean In 12 Fat Loss videos and I'm gettn ready to upload em! http://www.GetLeanIn12.com.

    Thanks guys! Great shizat.

  40. Parth says:

Thanks for the advice! This will really help me out.

  41. Aron says:

Man, I just picked up my HD Flip from Costco yesterday. Its on like Donkey Kong. Great post!

  42. I have a question: what is the best way to add that dead space at the end of the video? I have a flip cam and am not sure how to do this; thanks for the awesome tips and I can't wait to do this!

  43. @Nick, best way to add the dead space is to put your finger over the lens of your flip, stay real quiet and hit record – 30 seconds later you have your dead time.

Save it and use it over and over by editing it into the end of every video.

    Rock on!

    Bedros

    Absolutely fantastic. Love the ideas.
For those who might be interested in snazzing things up just a wee bit… FotoMagico is the software program I use. It's crazy-easy, intuitive, and very powerful. It allows you import audio and image files easy (though you can't import video to incorporate into a slide show, however–at least not on the basic version of the program that I bought). You can add also blank slides, slides with titles, etc. With nearly every imaginable song available on youtube (and thus convertible to mp3 in about 20 seconds) your options for soundtracks are limitless. Here's a link to a vid I just did (I'd already created the slide show before reading this post, so there's no blank slide at the end; next time…):
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P80toSMXuo
I used Mozart's Requiem for the soundtrack, as it's royalty free. But in the advertising wild-west frontier that is youtube, I don't think there'd be much pushback (maybe just steer clear of Metallical songs?) Bedros' idea is also great for embedding into CL ads, which I do as well. http://santabarbara.craigslist.org/act/1124172036.html

Not shilling for FotoMagico; just a testimonial. FWIW, I use a MacBook; I assume the interface on PCs would be the same.
