Ultra Link Building For High-Ranking Websites

Guest Post By Zach Hunt

I really do enjoy websites, they work for you, they don’t complain and they don’t require anything in return, well after the initial setup that is.

I mean, besides the like $10 a month on hosting fees and $10 a year for domain registration they run on auto-pilot all day long, and even work the weekends for you, that’s why I like to make it my PRIMARY marketing medium by far. While I certainly believe it is a good practice to have multiple marketing mediums, paid advertising, mailings, speaking, lead-boxes, etc.

Having a well optimized and well-done website is like a breath of fresh air knowing you’ll get a consistent source of new clients without any additional work.

And if you want to really make sure your websites rank high, stay high and rank for a ton of keywords you have to have consistent and quality link building…however, the way most people do it – forum links, commenting on random blogs, and whatever else, that’s not gonna get you anywhere, check this out on how I go about link building…

Link building is one of those often misunderstood phenomenon often left to the dust and underutilized.

Take a look at this list on some common link building practices…

  1. Directory Submissions
  2. Social Bookmarking
  3. Video Submissions
  4. Stumble Upon Submissions
  5. Article Submissions
  6. Buying Text Links
  7. Creating Squidoo, Hub, Zimbio Pages and other like it
  8. Blog Commenting
  9. Forum Posting
  10. Forum Signatures
  11. Answering Online Questions
  12. Review Site Exchanges
  13. Creating Viral Tools / Apps
  14. Write for other blogs
  15. Having good content
  16. Buying directory links
  17. Blog / Website Submissions
  18. Automated Link Programs
  19. Anchor Link Spamming
  20. Link Exchange programs

And the list goes on, what works, what doesn’t and what’s a waste of time. Through my years as a programmer, fitness guy and whatever else, I’ve had a chance to test pretty well all these methods and more and really here’s what I’ve come up with.

Focus on 2-3 main ways of building links and do them consistently.

For example in a recent Market Annihilator video I go over exactly how I build a consistent stream of 920-1290 new links each month without me doing a thing. Kinda nice and relaxing. Not only do I consistently raise the ranking of a bunch of pages of my website, but I also ensure that my top rankings stay on the top.

You never know when you have someone who actually figures out what their doing and tries to outrank you.

These systems don’t take a whole lot of work, I have about 3-5 people who each do a little bit of work for me and manage all these for me on their own. Another example of some Proven Link Building systems I have generates about 400+ links for me a month using just a simple method. The only thing is with this most people do it wrong.

The point is you don’t need to waste time with a bunch of fancy techniques just focus on the simple ones that work (as long as you do them right and do them regularly). There are certainly a whole lot more than just the ones listed above, but there’s only about 5 to 7 methods that I implement on a regular basis.

Trust me a while back i bought this program which had like 17 steps to it, i watched all the videos, bought all these programs that the videos mentioned, used them to submit all these links to tools directories and bunch of other nonsense and I still have yet to see anything worthwhile from them. So to save you bunch of time and effort, check this out…

  1. Thank you for a great article. You described the most common link building tactics that will absolutely be useful for those e-marketers who is just starting a link building campaign. I've been doing some SEO for our company's website I must say I like the directory submission, article submission and blog commenting most. With the use of automatic submission tools, directory submission, article submission and blog commenting are made quick and easy. Yes, writing articles requires time and efforts, but it's possible to hire a writer to create the articles if one is not good at writing.

  2. Great post Zach,

I always look forward to your material.

When I first got started online the toughest thing to do was stay focused and consistent on a small number of items that pack the most punch in terms of results.

I used to always get distracted by the "shiny new thing", would fall off track and then have to catch up again.

Your point about outsourcing is key, too. If you can create a teachable system that someone can duplicate, it frees up a lot of time for more creation.

    Again, great post!

another thing you can do is google links popularity and find out who your competitors are linking up to. Market leap is free and is a good one. Find out what directories your competitors are on and get on them too!

What is the best way to get a website started? Is chris still designing websites?

  6. Chris McCombs says:

Hey Stewart I don't actually design sites as I have no idea in the world how to do that… I'm a complete technical dunce

HOWEVER… I use these guys http://www.fitnesswebsiteformula.com/ ( we actually work together now) and they will be accepting a few more people on the 13th of this month… I'd go to that site then if you need a website

    Hope this helps

( OR you can find someone good on Craigslist… but finding someone good sometimes can be a bit of a hassle)

  7. All really good basic stuff, I will share with some of my
    newer contracting trainers.

  8. Rudy says:

Thanks Chris and Zach, sticking to 2 or 3 seo techniques is tough when you hear of whatever the next best strategy is. I find whatever results you get you think the next best thing will be better. That's the biggest reason I have yet to master my first 3 techniques-spreading my limited time too thin! As a beginner, which are the top 3 you'd recomend trying to master first?

  9. Great post Zach. KISS is usually the best approach!

    Zach,

Thanks for the great info. I will certainly inplement some of those great ideas right away.

    Thanks,
    Brian
