Here's a quick video I did right after I had four shots of espresso, I didn't real feel that jacked when I was making the video… but as you can see… I have caffeine practically oozing out of my pours here

The video is about my quick and easy blogging strategy, and it's less than 3 minutes long… check it out…

I'd love to hear your comments below…

nice bruddah, showin' the love eh' mate??

and…. lookin lean and mean in the face bruddah!!!

some extra tips:

1) have FUN! Do NOT take your videos seriously. Let your personality shine through

2) Do NOT copy the personality of others, be you. Not every1 will relate to you, BUT, if you fake it, NO1 will relate to you!!

3) Get personal….go beyond fitness….show them the magazines you read as you cruise through barnes and noble…..NO, do NOT show them the Porno mags, the other stuff :)

4) You do NOT need a web guy or gal to make your videos as Chris mentioned. He drank too many espressos so forgive him. You can make your own videos.

5) Use key words in the title of your you tube videos

6) be frequent with your videos….I suggest 3 x week. Like Chris said, you can film 5 at a time, it can be 5 different videos or part 1, 2, 3, etc.

7) make educational videos

8) make inspirational videos

9) make CRAZY videos to garner attention :)

10) tell stories, don't be a NERD ALL the time.

11) Speak in the language of your viewers / readers. Do not speak scientific
mumbo jumbo because you will only turn them off, they can't relate to your
nerdiness unless they are, in fact, NERDS!

12) encourage people to comment on your videos…..don't be a dictator to them, show
that you care and allow them to comment and ask questions.

13) believe in yourself and your message. Most people don't think they have anything special to share with the world and so they never get started. BIG mistake.

Trust me, YOU DO Kick ASS…… now take action and make a video of yourself egging cars on the local highway!!!

JUST KIDDING!!!!!

Peace Kids!!

C every1 in Orlando!!!

Zach, you da man and I', looking forward to hangin' in Orlando

Great comment by the way, really ads value to the post

Yeah I was super jacked on caffeine, but man I still have no idea how to put up a damn video, I just shoot it and send it off to my web guy to put up… I tried figuring out all that AS3 and JW Player stuff and was about to put my foot through a wall… I just pass it off these days… makes me happier… it just ain't in my 5%, but I make sure someone on the team can do it, and that person is a lot smarter than me at that stuff ( I'm good at hiring and working with people smarted than me)

And Zach, you're videos are awesome dude, anyone who hasn't seen em' should check em' out - the bruddha's doin' it right

see ya in about 2 weeks bro… my bruddha from another muddha

jason lachance @ 9:32 pm

nigel @ 7:20 am

AlbeRRRto @ 9:24 am

Glad to see that Zach is gonna be in the building.

And Chris, you are doing gret. Your face is leaning out. Its like you look different but not quite sure what it is until someone comments about the leaness.

Benson @ 9:59 am

It all makes sense. Thanks for your time and you too Zach!

Robert Foster @ 10:03 am

Hey Chris. Thx for the tips.

Does Vblogging actual get you better search engine rankings?

Sean Barker @ 11:04 am

Great tips Chris!

It makes sense to do a whole bunch of videos whenever you decide to shoot something.

Chris McCombs @ 11:25 am

Thanks for the cool words so far everyone

@Robert Foster: Posts with a a least few hundred words of text are easier to rank in Google at this point in time, that's why I do both both types as well as hybrid posts

But when you wanna bust out a quick one, video is the way to go

hehe, that cracked me up. You talk faster than I do! Very real, and a great post.

Thanks, Chris! (again, and as always)

I haven't tried the video blogging yet, i will have to give it a go. Thanks Chris. I think my partner and I do a good job on our writing as well check out our blog at http://www.myvolo.com/blog and let me know your thoughts. Our latest article is on what type of trainer are you. Love to hear some feedback!

mark bayers @ 4:54 pm

I like that idea of quick short burst of 3-4 min. This will work well with my partner, he is a high energy guy who would do well with small tips. Good deal.

Scott Williams @ 5:36 pm

God I thought I talked fast, but Chris dude I think you have me covered…

We will have to sit in Orlando and have a few coffees and see who does actually talk faster..

Thanks for the tip mate, definatley something I am going to start doing when I return from Orlando.

At the moment I am just making lists of topics and breaking them down, and will do a full day when I get back and do up maybe 40 or 50 that will keep me going for a while.

Like you though I still like to write some blog posts.

See you in two weeks… ( looking forarwd to the 31 hours flight time from Canberra Australia & waiting in airports) NOT!!!!

Chris McCombs @ 11:38 pm

Damn Scott, 31 hours… you are a true bad ass

Noel Lyons @ 10:46 am

Nice post Chris - has pulled in some good comments

Blogs - Videos …. and if I can add a 3rd element to the mix - Syndication. You don't just want that video on your blog, you want it on as many other blogs and social networks (like Ning) as you can!

Keith @ 2:39 pm

Hey,

Just been working out how to post vids over the last couple of days.

Blogging was defo taking to long so have been look at doing the vid versions, thanks for the tips, well excited about this week and have a vid or 2 in my head already ready to go!

Chris McCombs @ 5:25 pm

Hey Noel, that's a strategy some people like, I personally don't like it though… at least not for this blog

I create separate content for syndication and then I like to keep the majority of the content on my blog only my blog. Hope that makes sense

Thanks for the tip

Supreme KickASS AweSOME Sir.
all your videos on http://www.kickbacklife.com/ and

You are truly motivating minds and creating
great days for many people. Ooh-Rah!!!
Thank you for being a gr8 friend and mentor.
One goal is to meet you next year and kick back and

Daniel Munday @ 10:04 pm

Chris if you had've spoken any faster you'd be Alvin and the chimpmunks! Nice tips though as usual. I love my blogs and video content - some are better than others but all are better than when i first started.

October 12, 2009

Susan Campbell @ 12:01 pm

Thanks Chris, I got my video camera this weekend and I am ready to go to town on my videos!

October 13, 2009

Sara Hutniak @ 3:32 pm

Hey Chris.
I enjoy writing, too - but sometimes I get writers block and a video is a quick way to get across the message that I can't put into words. Do you use YouTube, viddler or something else?

I also appreciate the comments from Zach even-Esh - I've visited his site a few times and have taken some valuable info from each visit.

Thanks for the info. I wish I could be in Orlando for the Fitness Info Summit, but I missed the deadline. To all you out there, be an action taker and act on the gut feeling to do something, don't wait and think. Just do. It would have been cool to meet many of the trainers who regularly contribute to this and other blogs. My loss. Hopefully Bedros will make available a video to purchase of the summit proceedings.

-Sara
