Sneaky Little Trick To Blow Up Your Fitness Business… (Part 2)

Fitness Marketing Guest Post by Zach Hunt

Hey, Chris McCombs here, hope you’re doing awesome!! Check out this killer post by Zach Hunt my partner on the membership portion of this site, the Kick Back Lifestyle Club for fitness trainers and the Six-Figure Business Program Fitness Profits Blue Print, where we show a bunch of ways to systematize your business. Literally you can just copy and paste the systems in there into your business and save years and trial and error. Anyway, here’s a follow up post to one I did a few months back about a sneaky and controversial tactic I use in my business… I’ll let Zach take it from here…

When I first heard about the tactic to train fitness models for free to use their pictures on my website, I thought it was brilliant, I mean true genius. See that girl Helen over to the right, that’s one of his MANY figure model clients that he was known for training.

Don’t know what I’m talking about? See the initial post here: Sneaky Fitness Business Marketing Tactic

I remember when I saw Chris McCombs’  SoCalWorkout.com site for the first time and seeing all the testimonials from model looking girls on his site, I immediately thought he was some “elite” trainer and was definitely the best around. I mean after all the fitness models and those depending on their body for their job went to Chris. That is POWERFUL social proof.

The initial recommendation was to go onto MySpace and search for ‘model looking girls’ and the like on there. Now that’s all fine and dandy, it does work to some extent, if you search long and hard and don’t mind sending out about 1K messages to a bunch of random girls AND don’t mind filtering through a ton of flakes.

However, I’ve found a much better AND easier way to find quality people for  this offer (you won’t find these girls on myspace, or even Craigslist).

Here’s what I’ve been doing…

Just check out the video…

Zach Hunt is a fitness studio owner and a Personal Trainer in Spokane WA and is also partners with Chris on many projects like the Fitness Profits Blue Print

  1. yo Zach, sh*t, we didn't even meet in Orlando!!

You're a killa beast, thank you!

  2. Joyce Moore says:

I actually tried Model Mayhem before and it didn't work, but I know the reason why now…I have to create my own profile.

  3. Sounds like a good plan to me. hot chicks never hurt..

  4. Becky Fox says:

That's great! I'm actually on model mayhem already and never even thought of doing something like that: http://www.modelmayhem.com/399716 . Feel free to friend me if you end up making your own profile.

Also, a good idea is making friends with a top local photographer. He'll be able to refer models to you and since you're buds it won't seem like something creepy.

Also, do keep in mind models can be flaky so you may take some effort to find some that will be great testimonials, show up on a regular bases, and are good referral sources.

    Hi, Zach.

This is an interesting video for sure. I am a fitness model in addition to being a personal trainer here in San Diego and have a profile on Model Mayhem. (I'm not leaving the link…sorry ptpervs, lol)

Like Becky, I was able to network with photographers and groups but had problems finding quality clients from Model Mayhem as a lot of these girls are living the party lifestyle. This may not be true for all areas of the country, but I found it to be true in San Diego.

I also found that some of the girls got insulted even though I was offering a free model boot camp. Remember: You're dealing with some major egos. Still, I was able to get a few participants and the boot camp was a lot of fun.

I say it's worth a try. If you're a Male trainer, I would approach this tactic with extreme caution, and make sure you have super professional photos.

  6. Hey Zach, great stuff. It's awesome that you tried all this out, found something that works and then share it with us.

I usually use the Craigslist strategy, but I'll def give this a try.
Here in Los Angeles there are TONS of models/actresses/waitresses. Having these in your bootcamp is an AWESOME way to pump up the energy and raise your perceived value.

And I don't think this is sleazy at all. Perception is Reality – that goes for your bootcamps as well.

  7. Cool stuff Zach! This is definitely ninja and I'm sure very few trainers are using this. Awesome tip as always!
