Fitness Blogging Automation Tactic

This is a Fitness Blogging Post from Chris McCombs

Hey there, hope all's good.

Right now I'm on a flight back from a Fitness Info-Marketing Mastermind Meeting… I just watched 3 episodes of Breaking Bad on my itouch and now… well… I'm writing this post for you about blogging.

( BTW… you do have a blog don't you? … if you don't… get one… they are a KILLER source for getting new leads and keeping your current clients and customers in your herd… as well as positioning yourself, getting found in the search engines and building a bond with your list… it EARNS you the right to the sell to them.)

If you'd like to learn more about blogging just got to the "Fitness Blogging" link in the topics section over on the right side of this post… lot's of great info in there.

Here's a strategy I guess I assumed most fitness pros who had blogs knew, but after this weeks Fitness Info Mastermind Meeting it became apparent to me that VERY FEW fitness professionals know of or use this tactic.

Ok, so here's the strategy for today, it's one I use all the time and LOVE using.

Say for example you're gonna take some time off ( like I'm actually doing right now) or you're about to go on trip.

Just load up your blog and time stamp your posts to come out on regular schedule while you're gone. For example, right now I'm taking about 6 weeks off ( with the exception of helping my coaching clients)

So what I've done is gone in an pre-loaded my blog with posts.. and time stamped them to come out on the days and times that I want them to come out on.

(That's an example of what it looks like when I pre-load my posts over on the right)

Then what I've done is set my auto-responder to alert my email list right after the posts go live.

So this post your reading is one of 18 I've preloaded… so if I don't want to touch my blog for the next month and a half I won't have to, my blog will continue to supply you, my reader, with killer fitness marketing tips… as well as continue to help me make lots of sales and get lot's of new clients and customers the entire time I'm vacation.

Now I might pop in here and there and add a few "spontaneous / inspired spur of the moment posts"… but that'll be cuz I'm randomly inspired to… NOT cuz I need to.

I'll also probably pop in to check out the comments on the posts ( a few of them are posts where I ask my readers a question… and I really look forward to seeing those answers) … but I won't need to moderate or approve comments daily cuz my rock star assistant Del will be doing that for me… and Zach pops in and moderates in once in awhile as well.

This is just one more cool things I love about blogs… the ability to pre-load your posts and email auto-responder to work for you… EVEN while you're taking some time off.

In WordPress, it's super easy to do, if you look around the back-end you can't miss it.

Like I said, I THOUGHT almost everyone who had a blog did this, cuz it comes in so handy, but when I was at the mastermind with a bunch of high level fitness marketers… it blew me away that out of about 40 people, almost NO ONE knew about this or was doing it.

Oh yeah, and here's another little thing I do… with the exception of spontaneous / inspired posts… even when I'm NOT on vacation I usually spend about a half a day twice a month loading up the next two weeks of blog posts… that's right. I'll go in on say a Monday, load up six posts for the next two weeks, and then not have to do another post for two weeks, even though there will be three posts going up a week… an average of 13 posts per month ( give or take)… and it only takes me two half days a month to write these, get the guest posts in, load everything up, set the days and times for them to go live, write the email blasts and set the dates and times for those as well…

Oh, and here's another cool thing, while at the mastermind I spent about 20 minutes recording six quick video posts for my blog from my good friend and genius fitness marketer Craig Ballantyne… and I'm pre-loading these posts up for while on my vacation… so six of the posts that'll be going live while I'm on vacation only took about 20 minutes to do… and that's to do all six… and the content is KILLER… now that's good time management.

If you run a fitness training business, I would definitely start blogging, I'd get your SEO, salespages, Google Local, Google PPC and Craigslist marketing dialed in first, but after that DEFINITELY add it to the game plan… if I told you how much money you can make from blogging you wouldn't believe me. ( As long as you it right… whatever you do, don't do it like 99.999% of people do… cuz most are just wasting there time with it)

Do it right, and you'll prosper like a mutha.

And if you're a fitness information marketer ( or wanna be one), I would start blogging ASAP, cuz for you, along with getting big affiliates, and building a big list, it'll be one of the most important things you can do to build your fitness info empire and make a lot of sales.

Hope you enjoyed this post, I'd love to see your comments below, I probably won't be the one approving them, but I WILL be peaking in to check em' out.

nice bruddah, I am preloading a lot of my blog posts because so many ideas are coming to mind, I don't wanna lose them.

Lots of videos are being made, basically, stock piling them.

Everyone should crank a Blog.

For low tech peeps like myself, it's so easy to update and crank out.

I don't care if you can't even snag a word press and you're totally broke, go free with a blog spot and start building content and community!

Chris, u da man!

Tell the family Hello and SIT DOWN!

Peace!

I definitely need to use this more often. I have lots of half finished drafts saved, if I got them all done then set them for auto-publishing I'd be a lot more consistent!

Thanks Chris!

You can also do this with twitter if you use something like tweetlater.com. It's pretty funny when I'm standing around at a conference and people ask me how I am twittering without a phone or computer.
