I’m here in Vegas, along with Bedros Keuilian, Steve Hochman, Craig Ballantyne and Vince Delmonte at the Fitness Info 100k Mastermind where we help fitness information marketing professionals create their first six-figure fitness info-product. It’s about a few things that the most successful fitness professionals do in the world, that most DON’T do, and a lot of this SEEMS unorthodox and the OPPOSITE of what most of us have been taught…
1. We’re actually in the fitness information marketing business, sure we sell fitness, but we’re in the self-aggrandizement business… the business of marketing OURSELVES… fitness is just the NICHE… the money is in YOU
2. We don’t work for money, we create systems that work for us
3. We NEVER compete on price… in fact we don’t even compete… we CREATE markets within bigger markets so NO ONE can compete with us
4. We aren’t overly professional in our sales messages and blog posts… we sell in a VERY conversational tone, NEVER trying to impress people with big words … in fact, slang will often help us make more sales than big scientific sounding words ever could
5. We invest in our fitness information marketing education by purchasing books, manuals, DVD’s, courses, coaching programs and mastermind groups( VERY few fitness pro’s do this)
6. We only do about 5% of things in our businesses… most fitness pro’s try to do a 100%.. the ones who truly succeed outsource everything that needs to be done but not by them personally ( which is the other 95% of the business )
7. We NEVER work for anyone else
8. We don’t look at the market and think “what can I get out of it?”… instead we figure out “What value can I add to it?” … add, don’t take
9. We don’t think in terms of the sale… we think in terms of lifetime values and the next two or three sales down the road
10. We take massive action FAST, even before we completely understand HOW we’re gonna get where we wanna go… we charge forward in the direction of our goals, make mistakes, break a few things and fine tune our path along the way, making the necessary adjustments until we end up at our desired outcome… most people WAIT to take action in the direction of their dreams until everything is perfect… the successful ones take action fast and figure out the details as they go
I’m a HUGE believer in looking at the majority and doing the opposite… and if you do the EXACT opposite of what 99% of fitness pros do, you’ll be WAY better off than if you follow the industry norms and standards
