How To Get More Personal Training Clients Offline

A “How To Get More Personal Training Clients” Guest Post by Cabel McElderry

Big Chris hit me up recently and asked me what I thought were some of my favorite strategies for really increasing credibility quickly and positioning myself for a getting a whole bunch of new leads and fitness training clients.

Well… here’s a couple of offline ways to get more personal training clients that I really preach, no matter how big your city is focus on providing value to your neighborhood. If you do these things you will create an instant offline brand, you can’t lose.

This will cost you next to nothing other than your time and will pay dividends for weeks and months to come.

The first thing is get comfortable with public speaking… it’s one of my FAVORITE ways for getting a ton of new clients

I would suggest you develop two different presentations to get you started… 20 minutes and 45 minutes so you can easily fit into a 30 minute or 60 minute segment with questions.

Now hit up your favorite search engine and type (your city or area)+service clubs.

You should easily find a number of listings for every Kinsmen, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce and all other non-profit, charity, sport or other clubs in your locale.

Almost all of these clubs have weekly or monthly meetings and almost always invite guest speakers. The best part is many of the service clubs contain many of the most influential people in your area. Spend a few minutes on the phone for an introduction and explaining how you will educate attendees to some of the latest health trends etc. should easily land you a few speaking gigs.

Now… it’s up to you to over deliver and then offer to keep them up to date with your free newsletter, win your prize, or offer to contact them to discuss their personal goals, whatever it is grow your list! Soon you are a local brand with all the important who’s who of your city.

The second thing can generate a whole sales force for you… and is GREAT way to get a ton of new clients… and you’ll fly in right under the radar.

If you’re like me you are bombarded by MLMr’s.

I think people have tried to recruit me twice for every health MLM product out there from Isagenix to Monavie and beyond.

Well I used to get really irritated when these people would track me down and blow them off, but you know what, now I get excited. Here’s what I have come to realize, often when they contact me and present their product you learn how little they actually know about their own product.

***Now what I do is review the product and if I like it at all I offer to help them out by hosting a seminar to educate their prospects about the benefits of that particular product and why a personal trainer like me might recommend the product.

In some cases I will actually sign up or buy a small amount of the product just to provide them the increased feeling of my commitment to them so they will in turn work even harder for me.

Now MLM people love it when professionals will endorse their product, it validates their belief and helps them to sell others so it’s truly a win-win situation.

You set the date to host the seminar and they provide the list, they will tell everyone and bring them out so it’s almost a guarantee for a great audience.

This now gives you the chance to educate them on the product but of course tie in the importance of proper nutrition and the use of regular exercise along with the product. Offer to continue to provide them value with your free newsletter, offer a trial program or consultation for your services or some killer rate to anyone that buys the MLM product.

You now have a massive list builder and some committed sales people who are going to actively refer to you like crazy.

Even as a new trainer a little research, a few phone calls and a little leg work and you will easily have a powerful offline brand in 30-60 days.

I’d Love to hear your comments below.

And if you’d like to not only GET more clients, but also KEEP THEM… then check out this out…

Client Retention Blueprint

Clients who stay longer often do two things…

  • They get better results
  • They refer more of their friends, family, coworkers and acquaintances

Here’s how the Client Retention Blueprint works…

  • Your clients get better results because they stay with you longer
  • Now, because they get better results and are around longer, they refer more people to you
  • Because of your ability to keep clients for years and years, you don’t constantly have to deal with the hassles and headaches of feeling pressured to try to get more clients all the time (Sure, you’ll wanna get new clients on a regular basis… but you won’t NEED to since your income just grows and grows … unlike most trainers, as you get new clients you’ll be keeping the old ones… instead of constantly trying to replace those lost clients… no more dealing with the revolving door 19 out of 20 trainers are plagued with)
  • And most importantly… you make more money
