A Fitness Blogging and Internet Marketing Post by Chris McCombs
Hey there, hope you’re doing great
Below I wanna tell you about 31 kinds of content you can deliver to your clients, customers, prospects, subscribers, followers and visitors.
But first…
For the last year and a half or so I’ve been getting slammed with questions by fitness trainers, boot camp instructors, studio owners and fitness info-gurus about blogging.
And it’s no wonder, they’ve all seen what blogging has done for my business and the lifestyle it’s provided for my family, it doesn’t take very much time, and it’s the closest thing to getting paid for goofing-off that I can think of
Well, I haven’t told a lot of people about it but for the last six months I’ve been working on a step-by-step, in-depth, walk-you-by-the-hand-program to help you use a simple yet highly effective Authority Blog, to become one of the most well known, highest-paid, most sought after fitness experts around
It’s called Fitness Blogging Profits and will be opening next Tues May 18th at 9am PST
It covers everything single thing I know about blogging… from getting started, to getting traffic, making sales, building a tribe of followers and buyers, you name it… if has to do with blogging and it can help build your fitness empire fast… it’s in there.

Be
tween now and then I’m gonna be sending you some cool free content showing you some cool ways to make money with your blog… in fact, here’s some strategies right here…
One of the questions I get all the time is “what should I write about?” or “I don’t know what to write about” , etc….
Below I’ve listed some of the different kinds of blog posts you can use to build your tribe of buyers… your tribe of raving fans who love spending money with you and will buy pretty much everything you ever put out.
Storytelling, connection and wit are three of the big essentials when it comes to having a successful blog like this one… there’s TONS of information out there for your blog to compete with, and the quality of the information alone is not going to be enough to separate your site from the millions of other sites out there… not only does your information need to be the solid, it ALSO needs to be the most enjoyable to consume.
Cuz don’t forget, most people live an existence that fluctuates between mild and intense boredom around the clock… and YOUR blog should not only educate them, it can also help to lift them out of that state. ( Which will keep them coming back again and again)
And keep in mind, your posts can be a hybrid of a few different types of posts… many of my posts here on Kick Back Life are a hybrid of three or more of these…
1. Adventure – Share an adventure you went on recently.. and maybe a lesson you learned along the way or a secret you discovered.
2. List - 7 Ways to ______________, 43 Reasons Why _______________ , The 17 Best _____________
3. Stirring the Pot – Doing something a little controversial or edgy that might bring up some strong emotions, viewpoints and beliefs among your audience.
4. Social Proof - Posts that demonstrate that your tactics work, based on the results others have achieved from using them… also included are posts that get a TON of comments
5. Launch Posts – Posts that build anticipation and desire for a new product or service you have coming out
6. Contest – Run a contest post where the winner or winner gets _________
7. Interview – Interview experts in your field and make a post out of the audio, video and/or transcripts
8. Series – Create a series of posts that all share the same theme ( like Hochmans AWESOME Boot Camp Marketing Domination mini-series he did for Kick Back Life.)
9. Quick Video Post – Bust out super quick two to ten minute video posts ( these are the fastest and easiest types of posts of all)
10. Insight - Give unique insight into a subject
11. How to – Good ole’ fashioned ‘how to’ information
12. Humor – funny posts

13. Reviews - Review a book, product, service, workout, diet, whatever… and you can either make this an affiliate review or a straight unbiased review
14. Pitches – A post where the entire goal of the post is to pitch or plug a product or service
15. Content Plus Plug – You give quality content AND plug or pitch a product or service
16. Rant – Basically you go on a rant ( these can be SUPER fun)
17. Going after the Enemy - Go after something you oppose – like a certain type of diet, or workout… and just friggin tear it to shreds ( Just make sure not to come across too negative… or you’ll look miserable and insecure)
18. Strange Parallels – Point out the strange parallels between two totally non-related things

19. Surveys – Survey your audience to find out what they want, what they fear, what frustrations they have, what their favorite ___________ is… these can get a massive response sometimes and really help you to understand your market and what they want. Survey posts can also just be for the fun of it.
20. Case study – One way to do it is kind of like a testimonial but more told in a story
21. Profile – Profile something or someone
22. Resources – List some helpful resources
23. Link Love – List a bunch of useful and helpful links
24. Problem with ______ – Point out the problem with something
25. Motivational – A post written to motivate your readers
26. Debate Posts - Get a debate going back and forth on your blog
27. Help Me - Ask your audience to help you something
28. Need Your Opinion - Ask your audience for their opinion on something

29. The Mighty Cause – Write a post for a good cause, to get people to help out with some kind of charity, do something philanthropical, or to show support for someone of something
30. Guest Posts – Posts you get other people to write for you
31. Collaborative posts – Posts you get a bunch of other people to contribute the content on
This list in is no-way complete, but it’s a great place to start… if you write out 5 posts ideas for each of these strategies, that’s 155 post ideas, if you do three posts a week, that’ll cover you for about a year.

I will add this to my arsenal…thanks Chris!
Chuck,
Check out Cam Studio, search it in google. It's a free video screen capture software for windows. I used this for a while before I upgraded to Camtasia.
Gold Nuggets!
Thanks for another great one Chris
ok cool thanks zachman.
Always love getting more ideas for blogging! Thanks!
We are also using camtasia or just straight to Youtube and embed it.
Chris, awesome as usual. I find it counter intuitive to create story telling types of blog posts, because I feel like people just want to the cold hard facts. To my surprise, my story telling posts get by far the best feedback.
Great list of ideas. Thanks Chris.
