A Fitness Training Free Report from Big Chris
Hey there, hope all’s goin great in your little corner of the world
The other day I talked about simplifying your to-do list… and breaking it down to the basic, most effective steps you can take to get your business from where it is now, to where you want it to be.
Well, here’s a little report I put together for you that will help you do just that, it covers the more important aspects to building successful fitness training business, and if I were to start from the ground up today, this is EXACTLY how I would do it.
You can click the link below the image of the hand-drawn report to download a copy of this report for yourself
Lots of the in and outs to the pieces of this report are explained in other posts on this site, and I’ll be coming out with some posts in the near future to help with some of the different elements as well
Now, I wanna admit something, I have no idea how to get 83 clients in two hours … or 167 clients in day… not that it can’t be done, I just haven’t done it personally and wouldn’t know where to start if that were my goal… but I DO know how to get 5-9 new paying clients a week … every single week, week-in week-out… while keeping client dropout rates extremely low.
Do this for a few months and you can have a client base of 50, 75 or even 100 group training or boot camp clients… stick with it for a year… and well… you get the picture.
If you’re looking for a get-rich-quick plan, this isn’t it and I’m probably not the guy for you… but if you’d like to systematically build a six-figure fitness training business in a relatively short time, and are willing to take a few simple actions, then this formula is one of the best ways to go… and I’ve personally seen it work time and again.
Just focus on one thing at a time, and keep stacking each element on top of the rest… and you’ll be kickin’ ass in no time.

A Fitness Marketing and Business Guess Post by Sako Yakinan
Hey … Sako Yakinian here… Hope you’re killin it with your fitness business. I’m gona tell you how I got injured and made more money from training business being stuck on the couch and not able to train for three months, then I EVER mad before.
I started my own fitness biz 3 years ago not knowing a damn thing about marketing… I just thought the more certs I got the more clients I’d get…well, I was wrong.
WAY WRONG.
Made probably around 30k the first year… and I blew stupid money not knowing what I was doing everything from useless magazine ads to getting ripped off by some terrible web guy spending 3 grand on a site that sucked BIG TIME.
Maybe you’ve been there yourself… if you you have, you know it sucks! Especially when you’re starting out and don’t have the extra funds to just throw away on marketing that doesn’t work.
Well check this out…

A Fitness Marketing Blog Post with TONS of Tips to Help Build Your Business by Chris McCombs, Dustin Maher and Dan G0
Hey there, hope you’re doin’ awesome… lot’s of cool info in this blog post for you to help build your training business… some of it’s in a cool video I found, and still other parts are by fitness trainers Dustin Maher and Dan Go
Recently, well known fitness trainer and boot camp owner Dustin Maher sent me this to share with you…
###
Becoming the local fitness celebrity and go to guy has changed my life by giving me the freedom to do what I want when I want. There are at least 15 powerful techniques I teach to get massive amounts of free publicity through TV, radio, magazines, and newspapers.
I currently train 7 news reporters on all three major networks, NBC, ABC, and CBS. Not only is this incredible social proof that the news reporters, whose careers hang in the balance of how they look on camera, are coming to me. But it also keeps the reporters always thinking about my fitness programs and will much more likely turn to me when wanting to cover a fitness segment.
So how do I do it? How do I get the most visible people in my town to train with me?
Simple… Here is my 9 step approach…

A Fitness Business Guest Post By Eric Cressey
Back in the early 2000′s, during my early years of personal training, I also worked at a tennis club during the summer. It had been my job throughout high school during the summers, and I’d really enjoyed it and made a lot of friends – so it was a nice adjunct to me learning the ropes in the fitness industry. Because I had two jobs going simultaneously, two of my first personal training clients wound up being a new member of the tennis club and his wife.
This couple – we’ll call them Mr. and Mrs. H – had recently retired and purchased a summer home in Southern Maine, and the tennis club and gym were two opportunities for them to make friends in a new place. Knowing that they were the new kids in town, I went out of my way to introduce them to as many members in both arenas as I could; it just seemed like the right thing to do, and I didn’t mind at all, as they were great people.
Little did I know just how much these introductions meant to this couple.
I trained them both in the summers up until August of 2003, when I left for graduate school at the University of Connecticut. About a month after I started at UCONN, I received a note in the mail from Mr. H talking about how much they enjoyed training with me, how they admired my work ethic and passion for improving at my chosen craft, and how much they appreciated all the introductions I’d made for them when they first came to Maine.
Enclosed was a $500 check with the message “Consider this our contribution to the ‘Eric Cressey Student Loan Repayment Fund.’” Needless to say, it was completely unnecessary and unexpected, but very much appreciated by a poor graduate student!

A Fitness Business Guest Post by Dan Go
Hey there…. Dan Go here… hope you are doing fantastic, making money, working less and being an overall badass in your fitness business. If you are reading this blog, doing Chris’ coaching or invested in one of his products… I’m pretty sure you are all of the above.
Honestly… when you’re ready to let go of the reins to your boot camp or group personal training business… it can be hard.
I mean…it’s like letting go of your baby and hoping it thrives in that cruel horrible world out there. You won’t be able to hold its hand and stand beside him… her… I mean it… anymore. It’s gotta grow up and fend for itself so you can have a life.
If you really want to own a business and not a job… it’s gotta be done.
But hey if you like trading hours for dollars and love training 30 hours a week… it’s all good. This blog post if probably not for you though.
Like Chris (and the E-Myth) says, “You want to get out of the technicians role and into the role of the entrepreneur”.
What this means to me is getting out of role of being a personal trainer and shift over to the role of the marketer/strategist of my business.
Once the business runs on its own you will focus on marketing and/or find new projects to work on to further cement that dream lifestyle you want.
Right now let’s focus on finding the right man/woman for the job…

Volume Two
Hey there, hope all is great in your world… things are going awesome here
I just sent my assistant Del and wife Sarah off to the day spa for some massages and pampering, and I’m kicking back with my little girls busting out a blog post while they watch a Barbie movie… it’s no Toy Story 3 or Shrek… but they dig it, so good times
About a month ago I did the first post in a new “unofficial, no-holds barred, tell it like is, give you great content and try to get you to buy my shit series” called Fitness Marketing Undercover… the post was a HUGE success, so here’s Volume Two… enjoy…

A Fitness Marketing and Business Post by Big Chris
Hey there, hope you’re doin’ great
This is one of those posts where I just had to write… I PROMISE there will be lots of good lessons, tips and strategies to help you more money in your fitness business in it
Two days I had hernia surgery… it’s actually a redo… 4 years ago I blew a hernia doin’ box squats ( one of my favorite exercises) ..had it fixed, and then about a month or two ago I went in for a heavy squat/sumo-deadlift/good-morning workout and blew right through the mesh the doc put in 4 years ago… and this time the hernia was HUGE…
So I just had it fixed again and have been stuck at home with GIANT purple grapefruit sized … uh… organs.
But a few good things have come out of this…

A Fitness Business and Marketing Guest Post by Dan Go
Hey there…it’s Dan Go…hope you are doing awesome and killing it in your fitness biz.
Before anything I want to say what’s up to all the fitness pros I met that this years Fitness Business Summit. It’s pretty cool to be around 300+ like minded people. I’m sure that the event has literally tripled my fitness training income in the coming year.

Special shout outs to my mastermind group of Leanne Ellington, Michael Duivus, Saraii Jones, Jonas Deffes and Dustin Maher. You guys are awesome and I can’t thank you enough for what you have meant to me and my business.
I gotta admit whole time at FBS myself and Michael Duivus were asked about Big Chris’ (is he still considered BIG anymore? Dude is under 300 now and getting LEAN) coaching from a lot of trainers.
I mean Chris is great and all but really what’s so special about this big weight-lifting Harley-ridin’ guy anyways?

A Fitness Business Marketing and Guest Post by Chris McCombs
Hey there, hope you’re doin’ awesome… in this post I want to talk about a few key things ALL fitness trainers need…. well, at least the ones that wanna be successful that is
As I’m writing this the wife and my two little girls are swimming out back having the time of their life
You could say the Fam is finally getting settled into our new pad. The wife is 5 months pregnant so she’s nesting like crazy, getting everything ready for the new baby.
Pretty funny to see her go, baby in the belly, looking cute as ever… running around organizing and getting everything squared away in the house so it’s just perfect for the new little one.
Even though she doesn’t look 20 weeks pregnant in the picture on the right, trust me… she is
After I bust out this post for you I’m gonna head down to the Dodge dealership… gonna get a new Dodge Viper… IF I fit in one that is… I’m 6’6″ 280lbs and have been a truck and Harley for so long.. I’m not sure I’ll fit
But if I do fit, I’m getting one, since they’re about to discontinue them, I figure now’s the time… Still gonna keep the truck, Harley and SUV though … the kids won’t fit in the Viper (=
Ok, so before I head over to the Dodge dealership, check this out…
There are a few key things that ALL trainers who want to kick SERIOUS ass need to have in place
If you don’t have these systems in place, get on em’ ASAP… they’ll change everything for you
