A KBL Post About
Possibilities and The Fine Art Fitness Trainer De-Zombification
And Marketing and Blogging Mistakes to Avoid

Hey there, hope you’re great… I’m wrapping up a pretty amazing journey right now into the lives of my customers and clients , and I think I’ve discovered what could be the biggest key to succeeding in the fitness industry for years to come… and hardly anyone ever even considers this, it is the ultimate marketing strategy and most everyone is missing it.
I’m gonna be doin’ a blog post on it soon, and it’s gonna trip a lot of people out… and answer a lot of questions people have been wondering lately.
There is a method to my shenanigans (=
You see, I’ve been testing some funky things here at Planet Kick Back….
… Some have failed on a grand scale….
… Some have succeeded massively…
And others have taken me on adventured into new strategies, paradigms and possibilities I didn’t even know existed.
Keep an eye on this blog, cuz I’m getting pretty close to pealing back the curtains on some things a VERY large part of the major players in the fitness industry have been wondering.
Plus I have contest winners to announce, free gifts for you and tons of other cool stuff to help you grow your fitness business.
Now, recently I sent out an email about the Zombification of the Fitness Training Industry and how to avoid it.
And this here blog post about AVOIDING the Zombification of The Fitness Training Industry will make a great forward, intro or pre-quel to the post about what I’ve been up to and what I’ve learned and how to guarantee LONG TERM CONSISTENT AND PREDICTABLE SUCCESS.
So, without further ado wanna I let you know about a few things that saved me from a meager existence of normalcy and modern day Zombification… which I see so many fitness pros passively fall victim to
While I do have my own form of party induced zombification goin’ on inside me at some level or another at just about all times, even if its pretty much just left over damage from the 80′s and 90′s ( my version of the nineteen sixties… it was Metallica and Maiden instead of Jimi Hendrix and The Doors)
That’s not the zombification I’m talking about … I’m actually speaking of another type of zombification entirely, not one brought on by too much fun… I’m talking about one fueled by fear, complacency and comfort.
It’s plague of the masses who tip toe though life hoping to make it safely to death without a scratch, who I’ll use to support my case for just how dis-empowering this apathetic zombification process is AND how contagious it is.
They are living like….
Zombies.
Just look at em’… they’re EVERYWHERE
Accepting mediocre jobs, low incomes levels, negative friends, bad THOUGHTS and lousy experiences.
Training clients in corporate box gyms just to make a paycheck with no real passion for helping people.
Living life in a state of re-acitivity instead if one of pro-activity
I say take a risk now and then, even if you get beat up along the way
I say the scars make us who we are, scar tissue is tougher than normal tissue anyway… sh*t I’m practically made of scars ( thanks Corey Taylor for the great tune to go with my scars)
A few things that have helped me escape this “zombfication” that is plaguing our society are…
- Head Stuff… basically getting my self-image right and my mental and emotional relationship with money right… cuz if your head isn’t right, you can have all the greatest marketing tactics in the world, but if you dont think you’re worth success deep inside you most likely always sabotage it.
- OCA … Obsessive Compulsive Advantage… if you;re lucky enough to have it, love it and thank God for it everyday… a tough one to reproduce though, you kinda of either have it or you don’t… this is one I cant teach you… either you got it or you don’t.. and fortunately it’s not vital for success.
- Helping others, started my training biz and info-biz in this way… always start with the giving hand
- My relationship with my Creator… keeps me and my purpose on point.
- Purpose
- Passion – one of the most important things of all
- Direct Response Marketing
- Info-marketing, selling “how-to” information to fitness professionals
- Blogging… which has been my platform to the world and my entire launching pad AND foundation of my business.
Blogging is my main traffic strategy, relationship strategy and marketing funnel.
Some fitness pros and bloggers don’t like to write, so they do video, which is WAY easier… I just like to write cuz I’m kind of a weirdo
But being a weirdo can be a positive thing sometimes, especially when it comes to teaching cool blogging strategies
And being the weirdo I am I just LOVE sharing this stuff with you so you can make more money in your business WHILE working less hours.
To start getting you heading in the right direction in your marketing and blogging efforts, I wanna talk about common mistakes so you can spot them and avoid em’
Ok… so here’s where most fitness bloggers go wrong… just like a life can be de-zombified, a blog can too… so avoid these mistakes.
No blogWith many of these mistakes you just need to avoid them, but some aren’t that simple, in future blog posts I’ll be addressing that stuff.

“Anyone tells you that money is the root of all evil doesn’t f*#king have any. They say money can’t buy you happiness look at the f*&*king smile on my face … ear to ear baby” –Ben Affleck Boiler Room
Hey there, it’s Big Chris… and today I wanna talk about making money… more specifically I wanna talk about one of my favorite ways to make money, and lots of it
Now, personally I don’t think money can make you happy, but it sure does make some shit easier…
First of all, having money solves the problem of not having any money, and that’s a damn good problem to have solved
Money can give you freedom to do things you could never do without it.
Having money allows you to not have to worry about having the bills paid next month
It can allow you to own pretty much whatever you want… and while our stay on this earth here may be temporary, it sure is fun to have some cool toys to play with
Money can allow you and your family to live in a safe area… to drive cars that are new and nice and reliable… to be able to have your kids go to private school… and basically provide an all around better life for those and the ones you love
And if your a guy, money can increase your level of attractiveness to the opposite sex, I mean, as men, two of our jobs is to provide and protect right? Both very hard to do if you have no money… so without it, your value to the opposite sex can diminish greatly… maybe your tall enough, interesting enough, mysterious enough, cocky enough, good looking enough, confident enough and funny enough to get by without any money… but trust me, having money can never hurt in this department.
Money allows you to help a lot more people than you could ever could with just your time... you could spend some time each week working at a soup kitchen and help feed a few hundred homeless dudes once in while, but if you donated enough money you could feed thousands or tens of thousands or more EVERY SINGLE DAY if you wanted… while still spending your time doin what YOU want to do.
Without money people wouldn’t be able to hire personal trainers, eat healthy foods, travel, shop, buy gifts for others, own cool stuff, wear nice clothes, spend weekends in Vegas, hire coaches, contribute to worthy causes, and basically do and experience a lot of cool things that can make life just that much more fulfilling
Having money allows you to create a better life experience for yourself and those around you
Now there’s lots of cool ways to make money..
A few of my favorite are… (more…)

A Fitness Marketing Post by Big Chris
Hey there, hope you’re having an awesome day… night… whatever is… wherever you are
Ya know, social media marketing can sound “sexy” … but unfortunately many fitness pros focus on it too early in the game… completely ignoring things like human billboards, ppc, seo, lead gen boxes, free Saturday boot camps that you can easily get in the local media, having a local high authority fitness blog and so on.
In fact, on most trainers list of things to do, “social media marketing” should be pretty far down the list under all the proven direct response client-getting strategies that work time and again.

A Fitness Video Blogging Guest Post by Zach Even-Esh
For fitness trainers who don’t like to write, or would prefer to use video, video blogging is the way to go… in fact some say it’s superior… Zach Even-esh is one of the dudes who would say that, I mean, his video blog is responsible for most of his income ( and he does very well ) … so he’s DEFINITELY a guy you wanna listen to…
Here’s Part 2 of what Zach Even-Esh has to say about video blogging
You can see Part One of Video Blogging Strategies For Fitness Experts Here
I’ll let Zach take it from here…
Ok… Right now my email list is around 14,000. But I have two kids. My wife hasn’t worked for two years. I’m selling my house and I’m buying a house double the price. Literally I’ll be able to ride my bike to the beach.
I’ve done that with a pretty small list.
But number one thing I do is those people on my list, those people that watch my blog, I love them.
Like, no shit.
I love them and I really want to give them all my best. And that is something that you have to do. I mean, this goes way beyond fitness for me.
For me what’s deep in my heart is I don’t want people going through what I went through.
I don’t want them depressed.
If they’re in debt like I was, I want them out of debt. (more…)

Hey there… hope you’re doin’ great
I’m blown’ away by all the feedback I’ve been getting from people waiting for Fitness Blogging Profits to come out Tuesday
I knew it was gonna be huge, but I had no idea it would have this much momentum going on in the fitness training community… pretty cool to see
The industry is starting to realize that whether you want to build your local training business or studio, become a high-paid fitness info-marketer or make money selling fitness affiliate products, blogging is the way to go… so I should have known there would have been this much buzz and anticipation about the program… still, I gotta admit, it caught me a little off guard.
And my support staff has been getting slammed with questions about the program so I made this post to answer the most common ones for you…
1. Doesn’t blogging require a lot of writing? What if I don’t like to write?
No worries, there’s PLENTY of successful video blogs out there…
…and video blogs are actually easier, quicker and more fun to create
Vlogs ( video blogs) are super-fun and a GREAT way to bond with your audience… Gary Vaynerchuk does it and the dude pulls in $60 million a year.
I actually love to write, so most of MY posts are written.

A Fitness Blogging and Video Marketing Post by Chris McCombs
Hey there, hope you’re awesome…
In this blog post I’m announcing the winners for the Fitness Blogging Profits Contest as well I have some cool videos to share with you to give ideas for your own videos
As you probably know this coming Tues at 9am I’m opening the doors on the long awaited Fitness Blogging Profits
You see, for the last year and a half or so I’ve been getting slammed with questions by fitness trainers, boot camp instructors, studio owners and fitness info-gurus about blogging.
These days pretty much everyone is starting to realize what blogging can do for their business and lifestyle, and the fact that it doesn’t take very much time to do, and it’s the closest thing to getting paid for goofing-off around… no wonder smart trainers want to know more about it
There simple is nothing out there that can give you the credibility, authority, and ability to get and keep clients and customers like a blog can… IF it’s done properly.
The problem is, most people have no idea how to do it… but don’t worry, it’s super easy and I’m more than happy to help you out with it.
And if you don’t like writing, you can always make your blog video based ( Video blogs are super fun btw, and hardly take any time at all) – below I’m gonna give you some examples of video bloggers who are doin’ it right
Nothing can help build your brand, your business and your bank account like a high-authority fitness blog… and I’m gonna help you every step of the way…

A Fitness Blogging and Internet Marketing Guest Post from Jonas Deffes
Enjoy this guest post from one of my first ever coaching clients, six-figure trainer and “out-of-the-box” renegade Jonas Deffes…
How does a guy in a band become a local fitness Rockstar?
I have no freaking clue… because I’m not in a FREAKING BAND and I look nothing like a Fitness Pro!
But oddly enough I became a six-figure trainer with hundreds of women in my boot camps because I broke the mold on what 99% of the fitness industry thinks trainers should look like, talk like and market like
Here’s how I did it…
1. Break the mold…
Even though I never had a big fat gut or been “out of shape” … I was very hesitant to getting in the fitness industry as a trainer because I don’t have those big bulging biceps or road map veins all over my body.

Last year I spoke at handful of events for trainers who wanted to build their fitness business… they were in Southern California, Jersey and Orlando
The one is So Cal was the first of the three… and below is the video of my presentation… there were 320 trainers there and it was a great time.
If you haven’t seen it before, it loaded with nuggets to help you build your fitness business using your blog… like…
And a whole bunch of other cool stuff
Here’s the video…

A Fitness Video Blogging Post by Chris McCombs and Zach Even-Esh… Well MOSTLY Zach Even-Esh
Hey there, hope you’re great…
…ya know a lot of trainers can’t stand writing…
They say it feels like they’re doin’ homework or something
No worries, you can still KILL IT with your blog… even if you don’t wanna write, aren’t gonna write and would rather eat a Lima Bean / Road Kill / Soy-Based Smoothie
The answer…
