A Guest Post from KBL Jedi Mastermind Members ‘The Boot Camp Girls’ Alicia Stregar and Carrie Kukuda
Hey there, it’s Alicia and Carrie from Complete Boot Camp Workouts…
Most exercise programs and a LOT of boot camps tend to favor linear movement. It’s just as important to integrate rotational movements for balance and core strength.
The rotational muscles play a critical role in our ability to function properly. Not only will integrating rotational exercises improve performance in most sports, but it will also help reduce injuries in our everyday life…since we’re twisting and turning all of the time.
As you make a conscious effort to include these in your exercise programming, you will improve power, conditioning, and strength. You can always increase the intensity by adding weight, increasing the reps & sets, or increasing speed (focus on form first, of course)!
Here are 10 of our favorite rotational exercises we use in our boot camps… (more…)

United We Stand…

…The Pretenders Among Us
… They are in your backyard and are eating out of your future…
The Pretender has usurped our profession for the last time.

First, I’d like to tell you a story that I hope will inspire you….
I love all of my clients, yet one market is especially near and dear to my heart.
That is my corporate accounts. Working as a business owner with other business owners in pursuit of a common goal – employee wellness and productivity has been very rewarding for me.
One day recently I was online reading some results of a variety of corporate wellness programs. One of the studies that touted it’s program a success was one where they had placed every employee with high cholesterol on medication to bring the cholesterol level back in range. There was no fitness program in place. There was no nutrition program in place. (more…)

Lotsa Metal and Lotsa Hip Hop
And I like to chill out to stuff like Elliot Smith, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Kid Rock, Hank Williams Jr., Cross Canadian Ragweed … that kind of tunage is always great fgor the post workout cool down

Right now my favorite workout tunes are…
This entire album by Travis Barker… now I was a drummer for a long so this collaboration album built around Barker’s cranked up drumming brings out the litttle funky drummer who lives inside of me… LOT’S of great tracks on this album with lots of great musicians from many genres.. definitely worth sitting through the ad the beginning if you like Hip Hop and Hard Rock…

A Guest Blog Post by Eric Cressey
With the minor league professional baseball season all wrapped up – and the big league season winding down – our large group of professional baseball athletes is rolling back into town for 5-6 months worth of training prior to spring training.
It’s also the time of year when I seem to get the same question 2-3 times per week…
How is training professional athletes different than training general fitness folks?
And, what can the lay population learn from the pros when it comes to athletic/fitness success?

A Fitness Training Guest Post by Rick Kaselj
Eh, it is that Canadian guy again talking about injuries.
I did a blog post for Chris a few days a go. If you missed it, you can check it out here.
In the last blog post, I talked about how injuries can lead to moohlah.
Now I am going to give you 7 tips on how to get more injuries which will lead to more moohlah… plus I’ve included some free gifts for you towards the bottom of this post.
Here we go.
#1 – Have a Step Before the Grinder
Most of us throw our clients into the grinder.
They start training with us or join our bootcamp and we go hard from day one.
But clients with injuries, aches and pains will not make it through the grinder.
They will leave you, have their injury flare up or quit because you don’t know what you are doing when it comes to their injury.
This is what you need to do…

A Fitness Training Guest Post by Rick Kaselj
Eh, it is Rick Kaselj here.
I think the Eh, gave it away but I am personal trainer up in Canada (The Great White North).
But don’t hold that against me because I have great way of getting more moolah into your jeans.
Before I get to more moolah, let me give you a bit of an idea of who I am.
I am a personal trainer with a passion for helping people. I know you do the same but….
My specialty is injuries.
Yes, injuries!
No am not a physical therapist, doctor or chiropractor and do not play one on TV but on Halloween I dress up as one of them (Just joking.).
You might be going, “InJuRiEs”?
Most people come to fitness professionals due to the pain they have when it comes to weight loss but mine come to me due to the pain of their injuries.
I help clients overcome their injuries so they can get back to doing the things that they love to do. So I help my clients over come the emotional pain of their injuries.

A Fitness Training Guest Post By Chris Lopez
A friend of mine opened a new gym here in Toronto. It’s a great spot with a lot of open space, minimal machinery and 3 or 4 power racks.
One of the more prominent pieces of equipment that you’ll find at this place are kettlebells.
As I was warming up for my workout yesterday, a trainer running a bootcamp was just finishing up and having his clients go through some “finishing” exercises.
One of the finishers was a 2-arm kettlebell swing, which just happens to be one of my favorite exercises.
Of the 8 campers that were there training with him, 3 of them were “painfully” new at training and/or using kettlebells.
I say “painfully” because you could pick them out by their rounded backs, locked knees and shrugged shoulders.
The other 5 campers, had really great form – exploding from their hips and really keeping their torsos nice and stiff. It was great to see people really do things the right way.
Now you and I both know that kettlebells are one of the most versatile fitness tools available today and it seems like everyone and their brother is using them in their bootcamps.
