Hey there, hope you’re awesome and your personal training business and/or boot camp is KILLIN’ it… if you’re taking a ton of action on what you’re learning then it is for sure… it all comes down to action.
Right now I’m out in Las Vegas masterminding with Bedros, Steve Hochman, Craig Ballantyne, Vince Delmonte, Seven Figure Sam, Josh Carter, Leanne Ellington and some other real heavy hitters in the fitness industry… masterminding is one of my favorite things do and is paramount to success.
Here’s a quick list of some of my favorite places to find new fitness training clients… when I first did the human billboard strategy years ago I pretty much approached everyone everywhere I went… all it took was about 30 days of that kind of craziness and my business has been pumping ever since…
Unfortunately a lot of trainers aren’t willing to get out of their comfort zone… and they pay for it every day… if you’re just willing to get out there and hit it hard, you’ll trip out on what can come of it… life rewards people who act in spite of their fears and insecurities.
All these might not be for you… but whether you’re looking for paying clients or free human billboards to help build your referral army, these are some great places to start… this list took me about six minutes to come up with, and I’ve gotten clients from just about everyone of these places but three of them… this list is FAR from complete but I just wanted to get your mental gears goin’… cuz potential clients are literally all over the friggin’ place if you just open your eyes and look… there’s a ton of money out there with your name on it, why not claim it… cuz if it doesn’t go to you it’s going to someone else.

Guest Post by Kaiser Serajuddin
This is guest blog post from Kaiser Serajuddin. Kaiser’s blog caught my attention a few months back when I noticed he was really doing a lot of things right when it comes to creating a blog that builds a following of loyal readers. I’m proud to say Kaiser is now on my Kick Back Life team of guest bloggers…
…the dude definitely speaks his voice and has a lot to say when it comes to being a successful personal trainer… His sh*t is raw and mandatory reading for any trainers stuck in a gym working for someone else… plus it makes a helluva read for established trainers too…
I know Chris is known for what a hash smuggling, overweight junkie he was – I guess when you pull yourself out and accomplish big things you can wear your past mistakes like a badge of honor.
In my case my story is probably just as graphic if not more…
how’s this for a headline…

If you’re starting a personal training business, there’s some advice I’d like to give you right now before you spent countless hours of your life in the gym training clients and studying for useless certifications.
It doesn’t matter how good of a trainer you are, how many functional exercises you can take people through, how many certifications you have, how good you look or how cool you are… it really doesn’t.
It all comes down to how good of a marketer are you.
If you’re just starting out, there are some things I suggest you do right away. ..
Starting a Personal Training Business 101
The first one is to come back to this website on a regular basis and learn the things that have worked for me and many other highly successful trainers from all around the world.
The next thing I suggest you do is leave your name and email in this box below so I can send you to a video and put you on my blog update list… full of all kinds of tips and strategies for a starting a personal training business
Just leave your name and email right here:
Also, you’re definitely gonna want to get this product to help start your business.. it’s called the Fitness Profits Blueprint
and it’ll take you step-by-step through what you need to do… especially when you’re just starting out.
This program is for anyone who wants a six-figure personal training business… it covers the basics of EXACTLY what works, and will tell you about what doesn’t ( most personal trainers do things all wrong… and that’s why most never hit six-figures… if you do it right you can make a KILLING)
Even if you have little or NO clients of your own right now.
Even if you aren’t even certified or have never trained anyone in your entire life… this program will give you the tools you need to easily build a six-figure personal training business in hardly no time at all.
Just CLICK HERE to learn more about this one-of-a-kind program

Another piece of advice is to go out and get your hand on as many Dan Kennedy books, courses, and teachings as possible. Dan Kennedy is the best when it comes to teaching direct response marketing, and direct response marketing is the kind of marketing you’re going to want to be doing. You’re not going to want to worry about brand marketing, you’re not going to want to worry about interruption marketing; you’re going to want to become a direct response marketer… it’s all about direct response when your starting your business.
Also, go out and take a bunch of people on for free and train them and don’t charge them a thing. Train them in groups, anywhere from four to six people at a time, train them for free, and ask them to pay you with referrals. I guarantee you, if you train 25 people twice a week for free, within the next three months you will have a full-time personal training pay from the referrals that those people will be bringing you.
Most trainers aren’t willing to do this… not even when they’re just starting out and are hungry. As a matter of fact, probably less than 1% of the trainers out there are. But, if you are and you’re a big-picture thinker, before you know it you’re going to have a slamming personal training business because of all the referrals those people are going to get you. It works on multiple levels. There’s other articles on this site that get into depth on exactly how to do that. But, just remember, if you go out and help a bunch of people get what they want in life, you’re going to get what you want in life.
One other thing you should also know before you start your personal training business is that you’re going to want to put people on automatic payments coming out of their bank account every month. Don’t sell packages, don’t sell sessions, don’t do cash or checks. Do automatic debit on contracts, ideally of at least three or four months, if not six months or a year. Your bank account will thank you for it.
Ahhh, the business of personal training.
And remember, don’t forget to come back to this site on a regular basis and study the content and apply what you learn.
Starting a personal training business is one of the smartest things I’ve ever done in my life… I hope you have a similar experience.

A Fitness Education Guest Post by J. Brown
So many trainers pursue their education focusing only on getting their certificate and learning the technical aspects of training clients without putting time and effort into possibly one of the most important aspects of their fitness education: how to market their business.
Yes, you clearly need to know how to train someone and you must make sure you are a highly qualified personal trainer, but if your fitness education is limited to that, you’re going to be a highly qualified trainer with no clients. Which is not where you want to be.

A Fitness Instructor Certification Guest Post by J. Brown
Starting out as a personal trainer you want to know about fitness instructor certification courses and which ones you should spend your money on. You don’t want to spend a lot of money on a course that isn’t going to get you where you want to be. Take the time to evaluate what the course offers and what you need the course to provide.
The price and length of the program are going to be big factors in choosing a fitness instructor certification program, but you also need to consider the quality the course provides. Yeah, you can find a lot of “certificate” programs out there that will tell you how great their program is, you can do it online, and be certified in weeks…but a lot of these are fly by night operations and the money you just paid isn’t really worth the benefit of having their initials after your name. Now, not every online certification is like this, I’m just saying you have to be really careful and not spend a lot of money on a course that isn’t respected and won’t help you a lot in the long run.

A Personal Trainer Job Guest Post by J. Brown
There are a lot of different ways you can approach a personal trainer job and ways to tailor your business to target a unique market niche. Your background, interests, and connections will help you decide where you want to go in your personal training business, but I’m sure that we can all agree no matter what niche you’re working in, that the best personal trainer job is one that doesn’t require you to work every waking minute of your life and actually brings in a killer salary.
Often a personal trainer job can become a drag if you’re working yourself to death and not making much money for the hours you put in. If you set up your training business right though, you can truly have the best personal trainer job ever by working for yourself and calling the shots so that you work fewer hours and make more money.

A Fitness Instructor Course Guest Post by J. Brown
As a new trainer you have a lot of options available and every fitness instructor course has it’s own benefits and strengths. What you’re looking for in a fitness instructor course may vary depending on your personal experience and background and what direction you want to take your fitness training business. On this site there is a lot of free information, articles, and content that can help you expand your business and learn skills that you need to really take your business to the next level.
However, if you are just starting out you are looking for a fitness instructor course that offers you basic information to get your business started and teaches you basic business principles that you may not have picked up from other personal training courses you have taken. If you go to the “Build Your Business” tab above you will see several programs designed to help you with different aspects of your business, and a few of them are structured to be used at different points in your career. So if you’ve already got a pretty strong training business you will not want to choose a fitness instructor course that is focused on expanding an already existing business.

A Personal Training Insurance Guest Post by J. Brown
As a personal trainer your focus is on your business, the success of your clients and their health and safety, but every now and then despite your best efforts something goes wrong, and you need to make sure that you have personal training insurance to cover you so you don’t get slammed with medical bills or a lawsuit.
Now, a lot of personal training insurance programs require that you be certified before they will sell you insurance. Obviously they have an interest in not insuring some “trainer” who knows nothing and is causing a bunch of injuries so they are limiting their liability by only insuring trainers with certain certifications. Most of you already have those certifications, but if you don’t and you need personal training insurance, there are a few fitness insurance companies out there who will sell your insurance without a certificate.
